I can't get rid of this back pain.Its 3 weeks after UTI.

I don't know if one has anything to do with the other but I had a urinary tract infection 3 weeks ago. I was given antibiotics and after a week,still didn't feel right.I went back and got a stronger prescription & I feel ok but I have a back-ache all the time. I never had a back-ache problem before.
Anyone ever have this problem?

I don't want to alarm you, and I could be totally wrong here, but can't you get back pain from your kidneys? Did you call your Dr? I would..Perhaps the back pain is totally unrelated? I'm just throwing different ideas out here...

You could definitely have a kidney infection....I have been hospitalized 3 times for them and they are SO PAINFUL and all of them started from a UTI....

Go to your doctor ASAP... If you don't treat it, it can be dangerous to your kidneys (and you for that matter)

Where is the pain? (lower back? does it hurt to lift and move your legs?)

This is going to be a little graphic so beware.I went to the hospital about 3 years ago because I passed a kidney stone. That pain was excrutiating.I couldn't walk.
This pain is just annoying.It just feels like I pulled my back out only I know I didn't. I can go along with my regular day but I am just uncomfortable.
I even told the dr that 3 weeks ago I knew it was a UTI because I actually saw some blood and actually had passed a blood clot. He thought perhaps it was another stone.But I don't know because I wasn't in pain.

maybe the infection just moved up to your kidneys which is why it's not excruciating like the stone. I would go back to the doctor and see what he says.

that is exactly how my kindey infection felt...like I pulled something in my back!

Please get to the Doc ASAP!! Just let them check you out. I maybe that you did pull your back, but its better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your kidneys!!!!

Yes it may not be a stone, just an infection. Check it out, better to be safe...

I went to a regular dr and he sent me for a sonogram of my kidney and bladder.They told me that he should get the results in 48 hours and I went Monday. I am going to call later to see if they know anything yet.
Its just very annoying because I feel fine except for this back-ache.Tomorrow I finish my second batch of antibiotics.

It is my lower back.When I went back to the dr the second time,he said I had some blood still in my urine but didn't see anymore signs of infection.
I just want whatever it is....to GO AWAY!

It doesn't hurt to lift my legs at all. I just have a backache. I'm not in severe pain.Its just very annoying.It just won't go away.I didn't lift anything heavy that would have hurt it.

If the dr. says it not your kidney, go to the chiropractor, maybe you pulled it a bit?

I had horrible lower back pain 2 years ago - it was annoying like you said. Didn't get worse with movement, just always there. Then one day it completely went out - like almost impossible to get up. I went to an orthopedic surgeon (not chiropractor - definitely not the same, and orthopedics should be covered), and he put me on muscle relaxers - it really did the trick. I would call your primary dr. and see what he/she says - they might refer you to an orthopedic surgeon.....please call today and let us know!!!!!

Novemeber, let us know what the doc says - it sure sounds to me like you may have a kidney infection. I'm glad you went back to the doc to get that checked out....

I also had a severe case of pyelonephritis (kidney infection) in December and was hospitalized for 4 days for IV antibiotics. My sonograms were normal but my urine cultures were positive. Drink plenty of fluids and keep us posted!
