I wanted a nuerologist that specialized in pseudotumorcerebri, or even just rare nuero disorders. and there is just NO where on the net for me to find this... and its killing me to look because i have a headache the size of the grand canyons..

Re: I cant seem to find a specialist

my nuerologist is awesome. Dr. Carlise St. Martin.

He is located here in Queens. I had to see him when I had my car accident. He has received many awards, graduated top of his class at Harvard, and he is such a people person. He is very caring, sweet and will talk your ear off. He makes you feel like you know him for 30 years.

If you want his phone number let me know.

Re: I cant seem to find a specialist

Suzanne I just looked too. From what I read this is something very specialized. My heart goes out to you. If Jamie's cousin is not able to recommend anyone, you might want to call the folks below. I think someone else might have posted this already, but here it is again. Since they are in New York perhaps they can lead you in the right direction.

Pseudotumor Cerebri Society
750 East Adams Street
c/o Dr. D. Friedman
Syracuse, NY 13210
Tel: 315-464-3937
Fax: 315-464-5006

I think it is wise for you to get a second opinion before you do anything else. I am sure with all the medical facilities in and around LI there has to be someone who specializes in Neuro Opthamology or who has dealt with this condition before. Hang in there!! We are all here for you.

I'll have FH talk to his brother. He is an ER doctor at Stonybrook and usually knows good specialists.
