Uggh, Ladies I need your help. I am planning an 08 wedding (Friday in AUG or NOV) & I can't seem to get motivated. I have found a lot of cute ideas on here for centerpieces, cakes, etc. but I can't decide on a RH. I want to stay within a budget of about $70pp before tax & grat. & would love somewhere that is either on the water or has nice gardens. I am totally stressing because my E-Party is on July 14 and I know everyone is going to be asking me where we are having the wedding & I have no answer! Please help! I have checked the 08 RH price lists but I don't know where to really start .
Honestly if you want to keep a lower price November is definetely the way to go. You have so many more options then.
Originally we were plannng for this Nov (before we got engaged), and then when the ring came, FH decided we didn't have enough time so he wanted 08.
I'm biased about Thatched Cottage since that;s where we are getting married, the price is less than 70.
Also check out Chateau La Mer, Sayville Country Club, Timber Point.
Good luck!!!!!

Re: I can't seem to get motivated...
from what i was told, OCT and NOV. are on the more expensive side. I know that the Fox Hollow has plenty of dates under $70pp I think the Watermill might as well.
I know someone who is doing Land's End in August for under $70pp
hope this helps

Watermill and Land's End under 70? I can't imagine - if so, that's awesome!

I'm doing Land's End in August and it's much more than $70pp and it's on a Friday. Maybe that price is without alcohol?

I can't imagine either, they gave us a price over 100 for Nov. It was one of the first places we went to.

I said that November is one of the more expensive months. We priced it out at a lot of places and that's why we're now getting married in March instead of our original date at the Watermill in late October

Thats funny since all the places gave us the same prices for Nov than for March. I've heard Nov is less expensive.
Maybe because we were looking at a holiday weekend the prices were less??? Or maybe because it was less than a year prior??? Or even the prices for the beginning less than the end???

Check-out Larkfield Manor. I wasn't too sure about that place but I kept hearing amazing things about it. So I went there to check it out. The guy was AMAZING. THe place is all new and redone and its beautiful. They gave us such a deal and threw in all these extras for no charge. I get 6 Dinner choices, He threw in a sushi bar at cocktail hour for no charge. The intermezzo he is giving me pasta and sorbet. Ice sculptures and carvings are in there. He also gave me a mini viennesse Hour no charge. He was wonderful and knew we were on a budget. I am getting married April 20th 2008. I looked around and I looked at A LOT of beautiful places and IT was a toss for me between Larkfield and Chateau La Mer. Even though I wanted to be on the water I couldn't resist all the extra's and how pretty and new the rooms in Larkfield were.

Re: I can't seem to get motivated...
I was quoted $125 for a Sunday night in July at Lands End -- She actually gave me a price list that went through the summer. I'm a Thatched Cottage Bride, and it is not under $70, not even on Sunday in the summer, but in November it definitely could be. Check out the Riviera. In November, I think you could get if for under $70 per person, in the summer, on a Sunday, its not too much more than that. The outdoor area there is beautiful. Good Luck, I know how that this is, I just booked last week,a nd was driving myself nuts! Now I am totally addicted to these boards!

For Nov 08 I was quoted I around 80 a person at windows. It was for 150 people at 3 PM on a sunday. They said I would be the only wedding of the day since i wanted the sunset on the lake.. I was very close to booking there. The morning was about 65 PP.

you can probably do Watermill in Nov for around that price depending on what options you want (CH add ons or VH). Of course I am partial to Watermill b/c im getting married there, but their gardens are beautiful and great for pics. They are having a fre showcase this mon night if you havent seen it yet.

I'm starting to wonder how they got the price they did. I know they dont have a connection or anything but i also know that they are paying $70 or maybe it's $75 pp in August. I didnt believe them either.

Did they book really last minute? That could be it. Otherwise, $70 per head sounds ridiculous, considering that the base they quote for Friday in August is $140 before any negotiating and before any add ons (and before tax and grat!). It's not even one of those places where you go and they quote you orally and then handwrite the price - they actually just have a print out that they give you with the base prices on them.

no... I'm pretty sure they've been booked for over a year already. however i should have mentioned that it was this August. so that may make a big differance. When we started to look at places and were getting the quotes we got, they told us what they were paying and went over their contract with us and everything. I have no idea how they got that price. Unless they are mistaken and it's not open bar... which would make sense but i dont know how they would confuse that on their own wedding you know?
