My very wise MOH, Lisa advised me to get my perm french tips put on a few weeks before the wedding so they grow out and the THICK white line is a little thinner. I got them today. I have to go for a fill in in 10 days and a gel manicure 2 days before the wedding...I have no idea what that is.
But now I can't type. My nails keep hitting the wrong keys!! AAHHHHH! I need my short bitten nails back
BTW. They look great. I got silk perm french tips.

for this very same reason Im just going to get a manicure...Ive been taking cae of my nails and letting them grow...but I can't type with fake nails and I dont want to scratch the baby with the fake nails either

Do they do as much damage to the natural nail as acrylic or silk wrap?

It is where the tips that are put on your nails already have the freanch manicure on them so all that you will need is a clear coat over it.
I am getting those too I never thought about getting them a little early to get used to themand so the white wii grow out some smart idea I just might have to do that

You have time to grow them! Mine were stubbs in Feb and now they are at least presentable.

LMAO!! You'll get used to them! I couldn't button my pants, type, etc... I got used to them too and then I was a pro. Good luck. I'm sure they look great!

They are a silk wrap. They put on the silk piece. glued the heck out of it. Put on a lots of acrylic and then put on white acrylic on the tip and pink on the rest. When you get perm french they file down the white tip each time you get fill in. So they don't get too long. So at first the white tip is kind of thick and a little wierd looking. That way next time when they fill it in and file the tip it won't look too thin.
As for damage to the nail. I think it is the same. I had super short nails and was afraid of tips lifting of my nails so they said to do wraps. I don't know why. But they look nicer than the tips. The great thing about perm french is there is no nail polish to chip!
