i think no one really understands unless they are a current bride.
i think before you are a bride and sometimes after, you just don't get it!!!

I thought I would get by with all my invited guests following all the rules of etiquette, they would be good little invitees and not ask to bring additional people, babies etc etc. With a little over 1/2 my responses back, I got a call last night from a friend (been friends for 15 years, I was MOH in her wedding 5 years ago) she wanted to wish me a happy b-day. She hadn't sent in a response yet so I ask her if she is coming to the wedding. She goes on and on about all the hardship she is going through to TRY and come to the wedding - and BTW, it is OK if we bring Aidan-right?(he is 2)
At that point I had already had a few glasses of wine and didn't respond how I wanted to. She caught me off guard so I said ok I guess. But now this morning I am furious. I have to call her back and tell her no-it is not fair to my other guests. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS?
sorry so long-needed to vent
I would definitely call her as soon as possible. Sorry, hun! I'm already getting questions like these and I haven't even sent out my invites yet!

She was married, went through this experience...you'd think she would know better then to call you up and ask if she can bring her 2 year old. And then to say that she would TRY to be there - that's not a yes or no answer. Call her up and let her know that you need to give the hall a head count, so you would appreciate if she let you know a definite yes or no. And also tell her that you weren't thinking straight and that since other guests have asked if they can bring their children and you said no, that you would prefer if she didn't bring her son.

oh that is so rough!!
can you email her and tell her that you are really sorry but you will not be able to have the baby at the wedding
tell her that you will arrange for a babysitter but your fiance has family that will be upset if other babies are there- especially after you told his family that babies cant come and that you will not be able to have another baby at the wedding
