I'm not planning on wearing a tiara, I don't like the look of a crown with my dress, but I'll be wearing something like what's in these pics...they're similar to tiaras but not exactly the same because they lie flat on your head..

You don't have to wear a tiara. Pins are fine, or a headband like PP suggested. Also a brooch or comb can be beautiful too.

I didn't wear a tiara. See the photos in my album. There are a lot of things you can do with pins :) If you look on theKnot, they also feature a lot of new hairstyles with pins or a bold hair accessory.

You can do a vintage looking brooch, pins, or even a silk flower.

I wore a comb on the side of my hair. I can't find a good picture right now, but you can kind of get an idea in this pic:

ETA: this was similar to the comb I used:

I didn't wear a tiara either. Just my mantilla and my hair dresser put some sparkley pins in my low (napeish) updo. Check out wedding album if interested.

I didn't do a tiara either. I did a beautiful white orchid in my hair. My friends really thought it was a nice touch. I had bought sparkly pins just in case, but ended up not using them. I have more pictures in my album (from the Knot and from my wedding)

I used a small clip, which you can kind of see here.

I got a simple pearl and crystal beaded comb from Barrons that will push in right in front of my veil.
