besides the fact that im stressed out beyond belief i was just informed today that the effing nyc marathon is on my damn wedding day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

R U EFFING KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i seriously hate life right now, i really really do, this is seriously just icing on the cake an di want to go crawl in a hole and stay there until november

Do you have a lot of friends and family who run it?

Don't sweat it, just infor your guest's ahead of time. I would also chekc out the route of the marathon and give them advice on the best ways around it.

Awww Joanna - Dont stress. The only people you really need to worry about are if you have anyone coming from Staten Island. If you are inviting anyone from there- let them know before hand and maybe they can get a room the night before somewhere in Brooklyn or Long Island.

Breathe! Don't worry. First, your wedding isn't at like 9am, so the traffic will definitely be dying down by the time your church gets started. Most people will know and leave amble time to arrive on time. Maybe you can notify your guests of better routes to take to avoid the traffic.

just like 2 or3 people from staten island, i jusyt spoke with fh and he says usually the marathons end around noon in our area so im hoping and praying that is the case, i cant see a schedule yet ont he website till its closer to our day

I once drove home from a friend's in Delaware on the morning of the NYC marathon, forgetting that it was happening, and I took the George Washington bridge instead of the Verranzano, no biggie...

Just be aware of which roads will be closed so you can advise out of town guests accordingly!!!

I know that marathon every year starts at like 6am........its over prob before your ceremony......don't stress!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regardless, majority of your people are from brooklyn and not evvvvveryone will come to the ceremony.....those who want to will def be there for you regardless!! Stay calm....

dont worry!!!! agree with some of the above posters that said to inform everyone about it, find out the route, find out the times... find alternate routes if your routes are affected.
