I don't even know if I want this job

But they didn't want a resume - they wanted you to answer the following questions:

1) What were the last 3 books you read, and what did you learn?

2) What has been your greatest success, and greatest failure in the past 3 years?

4) What is your astrological sign?

6) If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be?

8) Do you subscribe to any magazines, or newspapers? Which ones? (Be honest, we won’t judge you, if you say Hustler, or In-Style)

6)Imagine that you’re in an elevator and suddenly the power goes out - you’re stuck for what could be hours. Who would you rather be stuck with? a) Hilary Clinton b) Mike Tyson c)Stephen Hawking d) Donald Trump. - - Why?

7)It’s 5:15PM on a Wednesday, and you’re standing on the corner of Wall & Water streets when you get a call, telling you a suitcase with $5 million in cash is waiting for you - if you can get to the corner of 7th avenue and 59th street within 15 minutes. If you are late, your left thumb will be cut off. Do you take the offer? How do you get to the money on time?

They loved my answers. I asked them why the #s were out of order - but they just want my resume now.
Uh oh
Answer the questions if you feel like it!

I desperately want a job that asks me those questions.

What kind of job is it?

I will answer the questions but they require me to think and write and I don't have the time to really do both at the same time right now.

Sounds like a fun job. I want to go on a job interview that asks me questions like that.

What kind of job is this???

Editorial Assistant - Wall Street Reporter.

I told them that I'd ask Stephen Hawking what it's like to be so brilliant, how the human race can ensure its survival and what his favorite foods are.

And I was honest in saying that the last book I (re)read was the Phantom Tollbooth (but I offset that by The Unbearable Lightness of Being).

Right? I said that it reminded me why as I child I loved words and shied away from numbers.

And I managed to throw in that the last book I read (a new one, Before, by Irini Spanidou) really gave me new ideas as to how to rewrite my novel. For the third time.

I now really want this job.

8) Do you subscribe to any magazines, or newspapers? Which ones? (Be honest, we won’t judge you, if you say Hustler, or In-Style) I subscribe to Newsday, Self, Highlights for Children and the Prairie Schooner.

I clearly would have answered these questions out of order.

Stephen Hawking's 'voice' would have freaked me out I think.

Also.. Donald Trump would have been to loud and annoying so I couldn't be with him. Mike Tyson is an angry dude and I would not want to be stuck ANYWHERE with him for ANY length of time. By process of elimination it would be Hilary Clinton. Also - she probably wouldn't chat with me too much - I can see her sitting on her cell phone the entire time - but she is likely to have a secret service agent who is tolerably good looking with her. Eye candy.

I don't take the offer. Money isn't a great motivator for me. And I like my opposable digits too much to risk them. I would give them my husband's number and tell them to give him a call.

What is wrong with In-Style?

I like those questions - minus the astrological sign cause that is strange.

Hilary Clinton - close association to my political crush - Al Gore

OMG, I totally remember that book!! Was it as good at it was in 5th grade?

What did you say to #7??

BETTER than it was back then.

#7 was something like find a cop (because there are 5000 downtown) and bribe him with 500K (because I'll tell him all of the terms but lie about the amount waiting for me and say it's like 1 or 2 million) and speed uptown, sirens wailing, smacking into cars and pedestrians. If I'm late, I have either a super fast get away car OR a siren laden ride to the nearest hospital.
