I don't get it.

I just don't get it....

My mother is OFFENDED that we didn't take her photographer shopping with us. To the point where she cried and complained to my Dad, and my Dad said something to me this morning, about how rude and inconsiderate I was. WHAT?!

We're paying...and we're not babies. We can make mature decisions and choose where/how to spend our money.

Everytime I mention 'wedding' in my house, my mother says something extremely negative and crushes my mood.
For example, 'Do you realllly need a book a photographer 1.5 years in advance? Don't you think you're rushing things?! What if they go out of business? The wedding industry is shady.'

She just needs to trust that I've done my homework and know what I'm doing.

Sooooooo she gets offended that I don't take her to the photographers.....BUT last week, when I asked her to come to Filene's bridal event next Friday, she was 'too busy'. What the heck, man!

I would think she may have had a very valid point maybe if she was paying but . . . .

That is tough. You could just ask her if she would like to be invovled in the planning, and what days are good for her to go do things, that way you are giving her the option, if that's what you want.

I guess I just thought she wasn't interested, because she blows me off every other time I ask for help w/ wedding stuff.

(BM t-shirts, the filene's event, etc.)

I even asked her to come with me to the extravaganza yesterday...but researching a dishwasher took precedence!

Lets just blame it on hormones or menopause....my mom was a nightmare...and still is after all this time...when it comes to things like this...

She'll get over it....

i would def have a long talk with her. I know how you feel though - my mom often second-guesses me and thinks that I cant handle certain things ... and she constantly calls me to remind me to call this one and that one ... and do this and do that - and sometimes i just feel like going crazzzy
we gotta love our moms!!

I know EXACTLY what you are dealing with. I asked my mom on Saturday to come with me and FH to drop our deposit off at the receptional hall which would have given her an opportunity to see the place (she didn't want to look at places with us.) She said she didn't feel like it, she was too busy playing online Bingo..have you ever!!??!?!
