I don't have a flower girl!!!

Do I really need a flower girl? I mean, I would love to have one.. They are so adorable, but we don't have someone who is age approporiate to be a flower girl. FH has a cousin who is 10. I think that is a bit old for a flower girl. My best friend's daughter will be 1 year and 8mon, by the time we get married. I think that is too young... however her little brother will be the ring bearer and he will be 3. But, I really don't know what the usual age is for a flower girl or ring bearer or usher. I am so confused. Please help!

Thanks!

My brother had three ring bearers and no FG, and it was fine!

In my opinion the age range for a flowergirl should be like 2-7 and for Junior Bridesmaid I think can be 8-13. You don't have to really have a flowergirl if you don't have one. When one of my cousin's got married she did have a flowergirl or ring bearer. She did have a Junior Bridesmaid and Junior Usher.

Don't worry about this. Although they are cute, there is no rule that says that you have to have a flower girl.

I had two flower girls (my neices), one was 2 years, 2 months and the other was 1 year, 11 months. The 2 year, 2 month old refused to walk down, so she walked down with her Mom who was a bridesmaid. The 1 year, 11 month old walked half way down then panicked and started crying. I didn't mind at all but I felt bad for her because she got scared.

If the 1 year, 8 month old is walking down with the ring bearer, she will probably be OK. If you think you will get upset by her not making it down the isle then I wouldn't suggest it. I didn't really care, so I went for it.

Good luck with whatever you decide!!!

I won't be having a flower girl. I WILL be having a ring bearer and a jr. bridesmaid (FH's nephew and niece). They are not a necessity.

they definetly are not necesary and I agree anything under 3 years is too young. Don't worry

I don't have a flower girl or a ring bearer or a junior bridesmaid. I don't have any neices or nephews, and FH is an only child. We have 2nd cousins who are young but we're not that close to want to ask them to do it. It's all up to you whether you want one or not.

Re: I don't have a flower girl!!!

I have been planning on having my neice for my FG in June. She will be 2 and a half by then. I have no problem if she runs down the aisle or doesnt even make it all the way down, that never bothered me. Then recently we had a christening and she was there. She was a horror show. I would have no problem if she just couldnt sit still, but she was yelling her ABC's, etc...So FI and I have decided to wait until it gets closer to teh wedding to see how her personality is before making any decisions.
But I honestly think there is no problem if you just have a RB and no FG. It is completely up to you!

I'm not having one - no little girls in the family - yet - I am only going to have a ring bearer - my little nephew - he will be almost 2 by the time my weddign rolls around.
