Hi girls! I have a problem. FH and I bought our wedding bands a couple months ago and now-a-days the more i look at MY band the more i'm starting to dislike it! It was custom made to look like my e-ring (the pave channel setting). This is my thing: I wish i had gotten a more 'elaborate' style only because i know that once i'm married i will most likely just end up wearing my wedding band ONLY. Therefore i want it to be more 'blingy'. OMG~! I sound so materialistic and superficial don't I?? But i know you girls will somewhat understand what i'm feeling. The ring looks very plain just by itself... I've asked my fiance if i can go and get a new one. This is in hopes that the jeweler that we bought the bands from (which happens to be also where my fiance bought my e-ring) will be able to...i guess 'exchange' it for another. At first he wasn't too happy about my indecisiveness but he said that if the jeweler (in a miraculous situation) was willing to exchange it he is A-Ok with it. Would that be possible?
Anybody else going through buyer's remorse? What should i do? Advise please!
Oh...if you're wondering about the cost of the wedding band...Thankfully we didn't spend $$$ on it. $500 for mine. Which is reasonable no?

That is not tooo bad as far as how much it cost....I am having the same issue but with my veil. Since it is custom made you mayrun into a problem with returning it, but it's worth a shot...Good luck!

Honestly, I REALLY like your wedding band! I think it's great
But... if you aren't happy with it, and your FH is okay with exchanging it, then go for it!
This is not just a piece of jewelry... it's something you'll wear for the rest of your life! So i think it's important to get something that you're 100% happy with.

I think your band is beautiful! It's similar to mine. Most of the women I know still wear their e-ring and wedding bands together.

that's what I was going to say.... the only women I know who don't wear their e-ring regularly is my mom and aunts..... other than that, most women do... your band is really pretty. I think having the option to be blingy or not (wear e-ring or not) is GREAT.
my wedding band is one of the most minimalistic you'll ever see..... If I want shine, I'll tack on the e-ring! If you're riding the subways, going to home depot, the beach, or the supermarket, you might want a low-bling option.... it's really good to have one....

Re: I don't like my wedding band...
i have to say i LOVE your wedding band. esspecially together with the e-ring. and i agree with the other girls that you will most likely always wear both. but only you know whats right for you.
i have a friend who got two wedding bands. one to match her e-ring and one to work with (she works in a kitchen). she took both to the church on her wedding day and had both blessed by the priest.
maybe you could do something similar. get a 'fatter/blingyer' band and still keep the other. this way you will always have something to match your e-ring but will always have the other option....
and dont feel bad, all girls want more bling no matter what they have!

Re: I don't like my wedding band...
I have the opposite dilemma. My wedding band was made to match my e-ring (princess cut diamonds in a channel setting) but its thicker than my e-ring. It looks great alone but when I put my e-ring on..it looks like too much bling bling to me. And I plan to wear both rings together after the wedding so I'm debating whether to return it for something smaller or keep it as is and be able to wear it alone whenever I want. I can't decide.

If the jeweler won't exchage it as it's a custom band, maybe you could wait for your first anniversary and get a second, blingier band. As someone else said, it's nice to have a plainer ring for trips to the beach and home Depot, for the gym, etc. My wedding band is going to be totally plain--my FH believes that Jewish bands are supposed to be plain bands with no gems. Of course, it's MY ring, and I'm not the Jewish one. But, I actually like plain bands a lot.
Anyway, think about the anniversary ring idea. You may realize that you're wearing your engagment ring most of the time anyway.

I have to say I love your wedding band and I think it matches your e-ring perfectly. BUT, if you're not happy with it, thats what really matters. I would try it -- I had a similar problem -- bought my wedding band a year ago and took a look recently and didnt liek it anymore. We took it to a jeweler who basically said pick one you like, and then exchanged them -- he kept the old one and we got the new one (we just paid the difference).

You shouldn't feel bad at all. I am all about saving, DIYing and anything to save a buck! But I wanted an everyday band and diamond band. The diamond band I want is about the same as yours and it's not even custom made! Hopefully you can exchange. I hope it works out for you!

I agree with Hayley...your ring is really beautiful and I think it looks awesome with your ering, but the bottom line is if you're not happy with it than go back and get another one. At the end of the day, you have to wear it for a lifetime, and if you're not happy with it, there's nothing wrong with getting something else!!

I don't think you sound materialistic I want a 'blingy' wedding band as well. I looked in your album and my honets opinion is I think it is beautiful!! As well as your E-ring take a pic of it w/o the E-ring and take a peek.

that's also true for many european christians.... wedding bands should be really plain.... I guess because it isn't for ornamentation, rather it is a religious symbol.
I feel as if I'm 'cheating' becuase mine has one tiny diamond on it.... FH's is more true to tradition.
Even though blingy bands are undeniably gorgeous, a certain charm remains in the tradition of a plain gold band.....

Re: I don't like my wedding band...
lol....this is why mone is kept in the safe. (which only FH has the code to) I was afraid I would change my mind and talk myself out of it if I was able to look at it and analyze it all the time. I'd say that if youre truly not happy with it then go try and change it up a bit. But maybe once you get the new one, you should just put it away and not take it out till the big day.

Re: I don't like my wedding band...
You girls are seriously THE BEST~! You're like a cup of warm milk. So comforting. Your compliments are making me think twice now. My fiance would love you guys! I guess the first thing i should do is go to the jeweler and see what they say. Hopefully they will be able to work something out with me. As you probably saw the band is very thin compared to the e-ring band. Together it looks good but when i wear the band by itself...well...that's another story. It looks so lost and makes my small hands look so pudgy. At first i thought i wanted something to match my e-ring exactly. Hence the reason why i had the band custom made. But now i'm thinking the only way i will get something more elaborate is if i buy something like an eternity band. Oy...i dunno! So confused. I'll make sure i update with any news! Once again thank you guys so much for your kind words!
