I don't really post a lot but...

I will to rave about some of the vendors I have been using!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I do not post often, I want you all to know that I read all the posts and have gotten so much information from them. So, thank you for your help!

I am a teacher so the end of the school year was crazy for me but now I have time to update all of you on some of the incredible people and places I have dealt with in regards to my wedding.

My engagement party was a Saturday afternoon in June at an italian restaurant in East Norwich called Luce's. If you are looking for a place for a party or just an amazing dinner, this is the place to go. My fiance's parents threw the party for us so they dealt with all of the financials, but I know the owner was willing to work with us on anything and everything we wanted. We had unlimited wine and beer, and each person an antipasto and pasta course to start and then a choice of six entrees. The restaurant also threw in a cake from Dortoni's--we got to pick the type of cake and filling. This might have been the best cake of my life!

Next up was my engagement shoot. We booked Dominic from Twelfth Night photography. He was the first photographer we met with and after seeing a handful more we knew he was the perfect fit for us and our personalities. Our shoot was at Gantry Park in Long Island City...a place I didn't even know existed. Not only did it have amazing views of the NYC skyline, but there were parts of the park that made it seem like you were at the beach and in flower gardens. There is also a cobblestone part of the road right by the park that we took pictures in as well. I usually hate how I look in pictures, but I think I loved every single picture that was taken (over 200)!! I posted some ibelow.

Finally, last week I went shopping for my wedding dress. Not wanting to draw out the process (I'm the type of person who likes to get things done fast) I picked 2 stores I wanted to go to try on dresses--Village Bridal in Babylon and Kleinfeld's. I knew, from a prior shop which style looked best on me so that made the process a lot easier. I loved Village Bridal and the consultant I worked with--Rachel. They had some absolutely stunning dresses and I left the store thinking I was going to by my dress there, but then I went to Kleinfeld's the next day. I almost cancelled my appointment because I fell in love with a dress at Village Bridal but my mom convinced me to just 'give it a shot.' I'm so happy I listened to her. While the dress I fell in love with was gorgeous, it wasn't 100% the dress I was looking for. My consultant at Kleinfeld's, Audrey, brought out a dress that was 100% what I was looking for. I posted pictures of the dress below. If you ever go to Kleinfeld's I highly recommend trying to get an appointment with Audrey. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. I put a few pictures of the dress in my album.

On a side note, when I was at Kleinfeld's, Kelly Ripa was there as well. I was informed that Kelly was looking for a wedding dress because she and her husband Mark will be having a 'real' wedding in the not so distant future because they eloped 10 years ago. After she was done shopping she came out and pretended to be the wedding consultant for the bride they were filming that day. My consultant positioned me in the background of her shot so there is a chance I will be on that episode!

Next week I am going flower shopping but I have absolutely no clue what I am looking for so it should be a very interesting experience.

Sorry for such a long post!!
