I'm getting nervous about my dress and am starting to wonder if I made the right choice.
I had one weekend to get my dress (I live in AZ the familly is in Suffolk) only tried on about 6 dresses and really liked the one I got. It should be arriving the end of May and I'm planning on returning to NY in July for my first fitting. But now I'm feeling paranoid. I'm watching all these wedding shows and really like so many different dresses and different styles. I'm wondering if I didnt try on enough dresses or different styles. And even worse is I've forgotten what it looked like. I mean I 'know' what it looks like but I don't remember how I looked in it. I wish I could try it on again but it was part of a trunk show and not out yet so the local shops here in AZ won't have it and none are having trunk shows for this designer.
Am I just paranoid? Are these just silly nerves or should I seriously consider a different dress? Do I even have time to get a different dress? I'm not even sure what would happen to the deposit. OMG I'm going bonkers!
Anyone else feel/felt this way? Laura
PS this is the dress, www.jamescliffordcollection.com style J1970

i dont think you are paraniod. I think its absolutly natural. I only went on day to try on dresses. I tried on about 6-7 dresses as well. I really do like my dress that I ordered, however there are times when I am like- Well maybe i should have looked one more time- but honestly-- i think most people do the same. I am sure your dress is beautiful and your nerves are getting the best of you. :) I know its hard to picture your dress on you. I feel the same way also- I actually went back & looked at it again- tried it on again and was like 'oh yeah' and it felt right.
good luck & dont worry :)

I have the same feelings sometimes. I went one day to look at dresses and tried on about 15 or so, and ended up walking out that day with my dress. I ended up picking the exact opposite of what I always thought I wanted lol. Sometimes I wonder if I should have looked around more. So you are not alone in this!

Your dress is gorgeous!! Apparently many brides-to-be feel a bit of dress regret, but in the long run you have a beautiful dress and I'm sure you will look wonderful in it! No worries...

I only tried on about 6 also and what matters is that you feel beautiful on your wedding day and I'm sure that you will!

I think it is definitely natural and normal to be double guessing yourself and over thinking the situation. If you still want some comfort in the situation, try and find where the closest salon/store that carries it and take a road trip! July may be too late for you to change your mind. Good Luck!

Re: I don't remember my dress or if I like it!
I went through a very similar thing. I ordered my dress back in December. By February I couldn't remember what the dress looked like. The only picture on the designer's website was a side angle and it looked awful on the model. I was freaking out! FINALLY, i just went to the store and asked to try it on again and let me tell you, i fell in love with it all over again. I didnt even want to take it off. I said to myself, even if i cant remember what it looks like, i know I love it! I know you can't try yours on but trust your instincts. If you loved it then you will love it when you see it!

Thank you SO much! Just hearing that I'm not the only one who has had similar doubts makes me feel less nervous. I do believe that when I try it on again all my worries will be gone. Maybe I've just been watching too much Say Yes to the Dress and thinking that I should have tried on dozens of gowns. Whew....I do feel better. I think the panic attack has passed LOL
Thank you ladies!!!!!

I think it's natural to feel like that.. you wonder if you made the right decision. But just remember how happy that dress made you feel + I bet when you see it again, you're going to feel all that happiness all over.

Re: I don't remember my dress or if I like it!
that dress is georgous!
I only tried on 2 dresses and walked out with the 1st one I had on. I have no regrets yet.
No matter what you buy, or choose to do for your wedding, you will always have something where you say 'what if...' but no matter what style of things you pick for your wedding (location, invites, dress, DOJ, flowers etc..), no one will know what other choices you had and everything will turn out as perfect as it can be. If you liked it enough to get it, you will most likely still like it the day of your wedding. And remember the day of your wedding there is always one person who won't agree with your tastes, but that is to be expected.

I agree with the second dress idea. You could always go to Davids Bridal during their $99 sale and get a second one if you think you want to change it up a bit at the reception. Your dress is beautiful and you should wait until you see yourself in it again...you will prob fall in love all over again with your dress

Re: I don't remember my dress or if I like it!
I think the gown is gorgeous, A-line gowns are known for flattering the body esp if you want to tuck in the tummy and flatter your waistline. I can understand why you would want to change your mind since there are so many new gowns from runaway shows/magazine trends. Go with your first instinct. It caught your eye for a reason. There are going to be many new gowns that come out each new season. I know, it can get very tempting since there are so many beautiful gowns to choose from making it harder to narrow it down to one choice. I know, the first gown you chose will look stunning on you! Another suggestion is to buy another gown from a sample or clearance to change for the reception if you really need to have a 2nd dress. Best of luck with your wedding plans!

Re: I don't remember my dress or if I like it!
Girl I am right there with you..
I bought my 'original' dress in late September....only to change my mind and do a re select in Mid December (the ONLY reason that was possible is because the place hadn't submitted the order to the designer yet, it was very early)..
And even now, 12 weeks before my dress comes in, I'm still seeing things I like better and wish I would have just waited till the last minute to choose a gown so I wouldn't have time to go back and forth with it..
You are going to love your dress when it comes in. And if you don't-your best option is to purchase a store sample dress. BUT you will likely lose your deposit. The only reason I never lost mine was because the order hadn't yet been submitted.
Just try to remember the feeling you had when you put on the dress. Those feelings will totally come back once you put it on again (I'm sure I will have that too).
Good luck!

Re: I don't remember my dress or if I like it!
I started to feel the same way - there are SOOO many gorgeous dresses out there, and the more I see, the more I want to change my mind. BUT, I keep going back to the moment I KNEW that my dress was the one. I was trying on other dresses and just couldn't get THE ONE out of my head, ya know? And then when I tried it on one final time before purchasing, I remember the HUGE smile that was plastered across my face. So, I'm waiting till May 14th, which is my first fitting, to have that feeling all over again! Just try to remember the day you knew it was THE ONE and how you felt in it. I promise it'll fell that way again, and you'll fall in love with all over again!
