I was a BM in a friends wedding last summer (and although I did NOT want to say yes... and I was on the B list for being a BM **Someone else dropped out!.... I still have too soft of a heart and said yes anyway) and so this girl and her husband came to my engagement party and sat in the corner and didn't talk to a single person. She was of course invited to my bridal shower and rsvp'd that because she had a wedding in NJ on Sat night (She is from NJ) she didn't feel that she should have to drive all the way out to LI the next day... so she didn't come. I was a little annoyed that she didn't come... but not nearly as annoyed as when I found out she didn't even send a card! She could have at least sent an email apologizing for missing the shower or something? I spent soooooooo much money and traveled all over the place for all of her parties (engagement, shower, bach) plus the $$ on the dress and the hotel and the gift... so I am pissed, and although I already sent her a STD, I am thinking of just not sending an invite. We have a mutual friend who I am sure she will ask about why she hasn't received her invite and that friend can inform her that I am upset by her actions and chose not to invite her. Am I being too harsh or is this at all justified?

Re: I don't think I am going to invite her...
completely and totally justified, no doubt.
i sent an engagement gift AND a bridal shower gift to my cousin... and then wasnt invited to her wedding. I couldnt make the bridal shower because i had a previous engagement... i'm in the bridal party of someone else whose engagement party was on the same day...so i obviously was gonna go to the engagement party of the girl whose wedding i'm in.
i sent her TWO gifts... i didnt receive one thank you, or even an acknowledgement of the gifts being received.. and then i wasnt invited to the wedding. I know she got the gifts (my father mentioned it to me), so she didnt invite me, and im not inviting her.
I was going to edit this because the person I was talking about apparently looked for my posts and found this one... but then i realized that I'm glad they found it... now they know how much they hurt me.

It's your wedding, if you don't want her there, don't invite her.

I don't blame you for being pissed about that. She sounds really selfish. If I were you I wouldn't invite her either.

Ugh. I wouldn't invite her. How rude that she didn't even send you a card On a side note, my FBIL's wife actually took back our invitation so she could resend it to someone on her B-list

She is inconsiderate and it sounds like she used you...you need to do what you feel is right...I wouldn't waste the stamp personally!

I you're justified to feel annoyed, but I also think you should be the bigger person and invite her.

I do agree with the above poster. I think that since she was invited to both the engagement party and the bridal shower then she is definitely expecting an invite to the wedding and if you didn't invite her you would be just as rude as her.

Re: I don't think I am going to invite her...
Its your wedding and if you dont want to invite her then you definately shouldn't- she is not acting like a good friend... But maybe you could try talking to her to clear the air- it must be hard for your mutual friend and it will be awkward for her if she has to explain to the other girl why she is not invited... maybe its something that can be cleared up and you can salvage the friendship.
