I don't understand people

people are so odd sometimes. background story my dad made his & my moms wedding bands. he used to be a dental technician so he had to ability to melt down silver & gold to make their bands. he did the same for my brother & SIL when they got married. when we got engaged i asked FH if he wanted custom bands from my dad too & we both agreed no.

in the meantime my dad recently cracked his band while doing concrete work & my brother melted his while welding on the side of a building. when i asked my dad yesterday if he would fix his & replace my brothers he said no because his hand isn't steady anymore. so they wont be wearing wedding bands anymore. & if FH & i wanted custom bands that would be a no too.

does anyone else find this odd???

I think its odd that they'll no longer be wearing wedding bands. Does your SIL have any say in this??

I guess you didn't want your dad to make bands for you...but it still would have been nice if he offered!!

My uncle did all flowers for my sister's wedding 2 years ago (he worked as a floral arranger) but told me he can't do mine b/c he 'retired'. That offended me a little!!
