TWOTY is. I know it stands for the wedding of the year but does someones wedding get picked for that? How does it work? TIA

OK, TWOTY is an event put on by LIW every January. It's a bridal expo int he form of a mock wedding. This way you go as a guest and get to see vendors in action
This year it was at Chateau La Mer. They had NYFIlmworks do the video and they showed a same day edit, they had the Sugar Chick do the cookie favors, and Morgan's Bay to truffles, they had a different floral centerpiece at each table... and they have a video contest for brides who got married the year prior (so for TWOTY'10, they had 09 brides compte) to be the bride and bm's for TWOTY... and their DH's participate as well.
It's soooooo fun, and they give away a ton of prozes via raffle (I won nada, though). This year tix sold out in less than 4 hours.

They were $30 per person. It's only open to LIW brides and FH's... so you can't bring mom, MOH etc... if FH can't go, you buy a solo ticket since there are such limited qty's They sold 200 tix this year.

This year it was in NOv... but they don't say what day ahead of time. So a lot of girls that really wanted to go got locked out. Whoever happened to be at their computer that day got lucky.

i have to be honest here us 2010 brides are crazyyyyyyyyyy
we bought most of the tickets in like 2sec
we love seeing each other and it was like our own g2g
