I don't want to sound harsh but I need help!

FMIL got out of the hospital July 23rd. I haven't said anything about the Rehearsal Dinner during that time because I figured it wasn't the right time.

Do you think it's harsh to ask her to call to make a reservation? We have the place we want it at and all she has to do is call. I spoke with FH which is like talking to the wall he says, 'Yea, she's going to call'....WHEN

I would just call to check on her and let her know that i know she needs to be resting but you wanted to know would she be able to make the call or would she like you to do it for her. i don't see a problem with that.

First off, what did she go in the hopsital for? Was it something delapitating (sp?) ? Cause if she is still not well I wouldn't advise pushing her to do it. It's just a reservation, have one of your BM's do it. I mean, how hard is a reservation?

Insted of asking her to call, why not ask if she wants you to call.

I think you should offer to 'help' her. Let he know that you know she's still recuperating and if there's anything you can do to help her with planning the RD than you're more than willing to give her a hand.

Seriously.

Can you or your FH make the reservation? It shouldn't be that big a deal...I think it's kind of inconsiderate to ask her to do this now.

I thought it was the FH's family who sets up the RD... not the BM. I would see if she was ok, but I don't think it's a priority. I would ask someone else to do it, or jsut do it yourself. Unless she has a connection to the restaurant I don't think she HAS to do it... unless i'm missing something
