Has anyone failed the 1 hour and then pass the 3 hour? I am taking my 3 hour on Thursday. Any advice for me? Last time they told me not to fast and there was another preg. girl at the lab and she was told to fast for 12 hours!

Hi..I failed my 1 hour too. I took my 3 hour test on thursday waiting on the results. I was told to fast 12 hours before.

I just took my 1 hour test on Friday. I'm waiting for the results on Monday. Stupid me had a nice bowl of cereal that morning with a sprinkle of sugar. I'm sure that I'll be taking the 3 hour test too.

i failed the one hour but passed the 3 hour. i didn't have to fast for the one hour but I couldn't eat past 12 the night before the 3 hour my test was at 9 am. do yourself a favor...when you take the 3 hour make sure you bring something to eat for after the test. I didn't and almost passed out on line at a deli afterwards! I could never understand making a pregnant girl not eat for 12 hours!

Lots of people fail the one hour but pass the three hour. Don't get concerned yet. I also was told not to fast for the one hour one but to no eat anything after midnight for the 3 hour one. I had GD so no matter what I ate - I would have failed. But luckily - at 6 weeks post-partun, I took a 2-hour (had to fast) and it is GONE!!
My tips would be to make your appt for the three hour one for early as possible so you don't go long without eating. Bring snacks and/or water so you can have it as soon as the test is complete. Bring a friend and/or lots of reading material. The three hour is soooo boring!!! Good Luck!!!!!!

I failed the one hour by one point and then passed the 3 hour test. It is just really boring sitting there for 3 hours, otherwise it is not bad. I know many people who failed one and then passed the other. Good Luck!

Good luck - I hope you pass the 3 hour. Btw, I was told to fast for my 1 hour and I passed. I think the eating may have had something to do with it for you.

Try not to worry and watch what you eat the night before, avoid carbs/pasta and candy like nerds! I think that is why I failed the one hr-- I didnt have it the night before but had a lot leading up to it, I stopped the candy when I failed the one hr and I passed the three hr one

I failed the one hour even after fasting. I passed my three hour. My doctor told me to eat a lot of carbs in the three to four days prior to the three hour in order to get my insulin production up and regulated (he said most people don't do that). The test is boring, so bring your husband or friend with you - the time passes much more quickly and you won't have to drive home. Have water and a snack ready afterwards, and something to read while you're there. Try not to worry too much - I did for no reason at all.
