I failed the glucose test that I took last week - Has anyone else failed this? I now have to go for the 3hr. test - the worst part is I truly freak about when I have to get my blood taken - I know it sounds crazy - it's just something I can't help - so therefore, I am so upset over this b/c I have to get my blood taken three times - Has anyone else had to take the 3 hr. test and if so what happens if you fail this one? Thanks for any info. you can give me

I am not pregnant but I wanted to try to calm your fears about the blood. Does your doctor know how upset you are? If not, you should discuss this with him/her. Your doctor should be able to help calm your fears. A 3-hour test probably $ucks but it is better to know what is going on so you can deliver a healthy baby- and stay healthy yourself. Try to concentrate on WHY you are going for the test rather than the actual test itself.

I failed the one hour too. Most people who fail the one hour do end up passing the three hour. Did you eat before taking the one hour? They told me I could eat up until I drank the stuff. So I ate breakfast, drank the stuff, went to the dr and failed. The three hour kind of $ucked but they did everything right in their office so they let me leave after each blood drawing and just told me when to come back. Anyway, I passed the three hour. I'm not too happy about having blood drawn either but I knew there was nothing I could do about it. I just closed my eyes, dug my nails into my palms and hoped for the best. You'll get through it!!!!! Good luck!
P.S. Why don't you ask your dr. if you can retake the one hour? I did and they didn't let me but it is worth a shot.
