OK so I posted that FH cousin has cancer. The doctor thinks that it's in stage 3 or 4 and we will find out tomorrow if it spread to his bones or not and what treatment will be necessary if needed.
I had the STD before we had found out and held off for two weeks hoping that it wasn't cancer. So I sent the STD's out today. Why do I feel so guilty? What if they can't treat it? I just feel so sad for the family and here I am sending out STD. Am I being selfish?

Your actions do not affect his health...so why feel guilty. You have no control over it...if anything, it may cheer people up, including him, to see something happy in their future while they are dealing with this terrible news...just keep thinking positive and know that it's in god's hands, not yours...praying for the best for you & FH's family!!!!

Sweety, Dont feel guilty. Sometimes people need a pick me up. I know that my family is really clinging on to the positive aspects of my wedding because it helps us deal with our loss. Not that your cousin is a loss, I dont mean it that way, I just mean that our family is really holdin onto what we have to be happy about.
Ok this isn't coming out like I want. I am going to stop now.
Aw hun! You are so not being selfish. Life goes on. Don't feel guilty bc you are celebrating. There is nothing you can do. It's all in God's hands. Things will work out with FH's cousin. Have some of these.

Why do you feel guilty? All you can do is pray, you can't put your life on hold.

Re: I feel guilty sending out STD
I've worked with counseling women with all different stages of breast cancer. One of their chief complaints is that people don't see them as a person but as a person with cancer. She is going through so much right now and you protecting her (from the inevitable) might not be what she wants. She knows you are getting married and is comendable that you are concerned about her. Don't let yourself feel guilty. Life is a goes in a circle and you have to roll with the stages. If she is angry, it's not at you. Remember that! Try not to take it personal. You should be there for her the best way you can. Try to talk to her and be as honest as you can. She just might need someone to listen. I wish her all the best and please keep us posted. If you need anything FM.

Your not being selfish. Unfortuneatly these misfourtunes do come about. I 'm in the mist of my dad getting his second divorce. She has been a part of my life for a long time and its hard not to take sides. I'm sure the cousin who is ill would not want you both stop your life because they may be terminally ill. so don't feel bad or guilty that you are moving on with your life. it's just the way life goes. We pray for the best !!!!

I understand why you feel the way you do, but it is nothing you did. You need to live your life , be supportive , pray and hopefully it is not as bad as you might be thinking.

Don't feel bad. Not sending it won't make you feel any better. I understand though because I would feel the same way.
