ok so FH and i decided we would only have a MOH and BM
one girl that i was best friends with for the last 5 years just asked me, 'so who is in your bridal party?'
problem is that i was in hers and i didnt ask her because after she got married, she moved upstate and we just didnt speak as much; besides the fact that she was still really good friends with my ex (thats how we met and became really close)
should i feel bad? i mean, its not like im having other friends and not her; we're only having family i just dont want her to be upset or disappointed and she caught me off guard when she asked

I'm sure she will understand, Laura. I have a similar situation with one of my friends. I am in her wedding this June and I didn't ask her to be in mine. I feel a little weird about it, but I am just having family too.
Don't stress over it...Even if she is a little upset now...she will realize its not a big deal and get over it. Try to include her in wedding planning if you can...send her pics via emails and stuff...she will feel included.

You shouldn't feel bad at all. It'd be a different story if you had a huge bridal party and she wasn't invited but you're only having your sister. I'm sure she understands that. Also, I'm sure she invited you into her bridal party because she wanted to, not because she expected you to do the same.

Some of my friends have asked who was in my BP but it didn't come across to me as if they were expecting to be in it. I am the first in my group of friends to get married so who knows. Maybe they are hoping I ask them! But many times I find people are just curious and are asking about your plans.

I wouldnt feel bad, but I would prepare myself for her to be hurt somewhat, you know? just being realistic. BUT...you are only having Family, which is why I wouldnt feel bad. Everyones wedding has its own circumstances and thats why we make the decisions we do. We are all different and you cant feel bad for that Laura!! But by everyone dont feel bad, doesnt mean she isnt probably going to be hurt/mad/upset, but hopefully shes understanding!
Im sorry if she is upset at all. These situations just suck, but we cant bend for others all the time!

i dont blame you for feeling bad.. its a hard situation.. im only having my sisters.. because i cant choose between my friends.. and my fh wants to keep it small.. so its easy for me to say well im just having my sisters.. but its taken me so long to be ok with it cause i really wanted my friends, but luckily my friends are all cool with it and still want to be a part of everything so i think it will all work out..
maybe let your friend do a reading or a apart of the ceremony???

i know it's hard, i've been dealing w a friend who is upset that she's not in my BP. it's hard, but i went w family too.
it's weird that she asked though. i agree, i would never ask either.
