I feel like crying

I just called my bridal shop and they told me my dress is being shipped April 17th. I ordered it LAST JULY!!!! I have been having doubts and I just wanted to see it. Why so long???? They said 6-9 months and everyone said I was crazy for ordering so early, seeeeee now it wasn't so silly right? I just wanted to see MY dress, not a sample.

I am not worried, just bummed....

Wow - that's a long time for a dress to come in.

Just because you put the deposit on the dress doesn't mean they order it right away. I don't agree that they should wait to order it (my dress came in wrong and had to be reordered, thankfully there was enough time, but what if I hadn't insisted on seeing it? But that's another story.)

But honestly, if they ordered everyone's dress a year in advance, where would they put them all? It's not like they are so small......they tell you to order in advance for that reason, so they can order when they need to.

Sorry you're so bummed, it stinks I know. When you're dress does come in it will be great.....

they told me the same thing and I was freaking out, but it came in sooner, try not to stress it, although i know it is hard, I was

WHat I have found is that it doesn't take 6-9 months for the actual dress to come in, but salons work backwards from your wedding date and order it a few months in advance. So while you went in October, they probably just placed the order or have the delivery scheduled for a certain date. The only reason I know is because I almost didn't have a dress and I called salons the month of my wedding and I was told that yes, dresses can be ordered to come in that month. You're fine with time though...no stress!!

Yeah, I think they place the order but give a ship date or something...I ordered mine in November and they said that no matter what, it comes in like 8 weeks b4 the wedding date.

That makes me nervous!

I know that they can get you a new dress - even the week of your wedding. Part of my dress was ruined when the store attempted to alter the silk on the bodice of my dress and they got a new one in for me 9 days before my wedding. It will be fine.

I ordered my dress 14 months before my wedding and it came in 3 months before, no problems.

Don't freak out. As long as you get it before the wedding with more than enough time to do alterations, you will be ok. I know you are anxious and want to see your dress, but it will be perfect and beautiful and worth the wait!

As others said they probably didn't order it but don't worry you'll have time for everything to work out.

i know how you feel, i am going through withdrawal without my dress. it's so weird but i miss it because they only have a sample of mine in ivory and i'm getting white so i really wanted to see it in white. i never even tried it on in white
and mine takes almost a FULL year to come in which stinks and i'm still waiting. it should be here by either March or April and then I'm going to try it on finally to get this need to see it again out of my system, then they are going to freeze-dry store it for me until my date becomes closer b/c i am an 07 bride.
i can't wait!!

Mine is a Maggie but it is made to order with your hem to hollow measurement...

Hey date twin! I also ordered a Maggie 2 weeks ago and they told me 8 months, but I have a feeling it will be in before that.

Which Maggie did you order?
