why do people try to take over other people's weddings. it is MY wedding and whatever i want at my wedding, everyone hates. i had originally wanted plum bm dresses my mother said i couldnt do that because the gm would be in black and black and purple together are bad luck. then i went with navy blue, my sisters didnt like that. then i buy a jewelry set on ebay for me to wear for the wedding and all of a sudden fmil has a pair of her mil earrings that she wants me to wear, so now i have to find a necklace. i wanted to move up my wedding to march 2005 and nobody likes the idea because it interferes with their plans. and i dont want my father walking me down the aisle, i want one of my brothers to, and no matter how much i hate my father i feel sooooooo bad telling him. uhggggggggg i just want to go get married in vegas, i hate dealing with this

im sorry to hear that your going through suvh a tough time. but you have to remember that everyone wants there say during the planning but its doesnt mean you have to listen to them. i had black and purple for my wedding and so far we have had nothing but good luck. i think you need to be polite and listen to what others say but in the end its your wedding and you should be happy with everything. if you want purple dresses then go with them and have your sisters that dont like the blue stand up for you with your mom. as for walking you down the aisle i think you should go with whom ever you feel closest too. if your able to move up the wedding then you should. i hope you feel better!!

You have to do what you want - most of the people have already planned their weddings and now it is time for you to do the same - IT IS YOUR TURN and they should respect that. Good Luck!

I got married @ the Watermill also..Reception hall..Great choice!! I had Plum for my BMs and I also got married in October. My GM wore black tuxes with purple vests..they looked great! Remember this is YOUR day! I didnt have dad walk me down, I had both MOM and DAD..break tradition? Oh well! I wanted both. This is YOUR day and you do what YOU want. I agree with listen to others advice and thank them, but, dont let anyone tell you what to do! I wish you the best of luck!!

im so sorry its just peoples way of showing you they care and love u even thought its a strange way. its ur wedding have it your way if u have to yell and say its ur wedding they will get over it fast.

If I were you, I'd stop telling anyone any details, and just go about planning your wedding. It's no one's business but you and FH. However you two want the day to be, is how it should be - No one should interfere with that.

Sorry for all the stuff. You can have your dad walk you down part way and your brothers take over. Or just tell dad you he raised you to be an independant person, and as such you wish to walk yourself down the aisle.

I think you should do whatever you want and enjoy your time. Let people know that you appreciate their opinion but you have the final say. I have the same situation with my father and he told my brother if he deos not walk me down the aisle he is not coming But what can you do? Chear up this is a HAPPY time

I understand where you are coming from. I think all of us brides feel the same way. The one thing you need to keep telling yourself is that 'this is your day with your new husband'. I was told that by a friend of mine and it really helped me deal with a lot of the issues us brides have to deal with. Remember do what you want not what everyone else wants you to do.. Keep your head up and know you are not alone, and some of the stress does go away. Good luck.

this is YOUR day. people have a right to their opinions but you dont have to listen. tell them you appreciate their help but you think you'll do it your way. do what YOU want this is supposed to be fun for you if you want to have your brides maids wear plum then you have them wear plum if your FH and you want to move your wedding then you move it. this is YOUR wedding no one else but you and your FH have the right to make choices for it. its your day to have fun and break the rules. i am having a hard time with my father also so i can definately relate to that. i dont hate him but he hasnt really been there and my mom has so i dont know what to do about that. my advice is to follow your heart, you only do this one time make it YOUR day. good luck
