I can't believe that the most stressful part of my wedding has become the planning of what is supposed to be the most relaxing time! Here's the deal...I am an absolute CHICKEN when it comes to flying...I just can't do it...so FH and I were going to drive down to the Florida Keys for our HM. Well, numerous people we spoke to said it may not be the best spot for our HM and to be honest, I really did want to go some place more 'caribbean-like'. I mean, it's my HM! It should be something special. So someone mentioned to me that it is possible to take a boat from Florida over to the Bahamas...but only Grand Bahama Island, not Paradise Island. Has anyone ever been there? Where did you stay? Are there a lot of things to do? (we are interested in snorkling, swimming with the dolphins, glass bottom boats, jetskiing, shopping ) ANY info would be SOOOOOOOO appreciated! I am seriously about to pull all of my hair out. Oh, and just an aside...Am I the only nut who can't fly??? Thank you ladies...it felt good to vent for a moment.

You can take dramamine, there are over the counter patches you place behind your ear, and/or just sleep it off! That's what I did my first time on the 6 hr cruise to Bahamas.
Can I ask you what cruise line you used? Was the seasickness very bad?

ive never been on a plane and i never will!!! im scared just like you are, we have a right to be. its just not 100% safe!

I am petrified of flying but sometimes there are no other choices. I had a REALLY BAD experiences once and I had to fly down for my grandma's funeral last year and had pure panic attacks on the plane (i couldn't move and just kept crying). I am flying for a friends wedding in Myrtle Beach because I don't have enough time to drive. This time I went to the doctor and she prescribed Zanax. I'll let you know how it goes.

Can I ask you what cruise line you used? Was the seasickness very bad?
I've traveled twice on Carnival, but the separate trip to Bahamas was on a 6 hr. cruise from Ft. Lauderdale, with a small company called Discovery Cruises. I believe they have a website, that also has vacation packages....you can check them out! You don't want anything fancy for only 6 hrs...then you're in Grand Bahama. If you want to just cruise, the cruise ships won't stop in Grand Bahama, they stop in Nassau or Coco Cay. But those are one stop trips to the islands. Check out the Discovery Cruises....I'm sure you'll find something to your liking.

Discovery is the one we're looking into. Is it a large ship? Did you feel the motion a lot?
