I feel sad....

Last night around 12:30,I was in bed, FH was in the kitchen making himself a snack. I heard him yell cursing a couple of times, so I figured he broke something. He then came in the room to tell me that someone just hit a deer and left and that he was going outside. I didnt want to see what happened to the deer because I would feel worse, so I went back to lie down. In the meantime he called the police and went outside to meet them. I later looked out the window when I saw the lights from the police and I see someone sitting in the middle of the street which I knew had to be FH with the deer. So here it gets sad. I then heard a 'bang' and knew they had to shoot the deer because I figured she was suffering. FH came up after and said that the deer was a baby, just a newborn! And that she was still alive when he went out. He knelt down beside her and craddled her head. He then carried her across the street and brought her to the woods where the police had to put her down. I am glad FH has a good heart and was there for her in her last moments, she was just a baby.

Then to make matters worse....I drove by the woods on my way to work to see if the police removed the deer this morning and I think the mother was looking for the baby. Because in the exact same spot she was standing there, just looking around....I feel so sad......

OMG! I don't even like animals and this story broke my heart! That is so sad I am so sorry you had to witness this. Your FH sounds like a sweet guy!

Yes, he has a good heart. That is why I love him, even though sometimes he can be a real pain in the you know what!

how sad. that poor mama deer. my heart just pinched when I read this. ur FH is an amazing and caring person.

aww that's so sad. but unfortunately that's all you can do when the deer is suffering. Your FH is a great guy for doing that!
