I feel so bad for FH!!
First he couldn't have his best friend as his Best Man because he had his passport stolen (which had his VISA for the US in it) and he was also tight on money. This was dissapointing but understandable because a flight from South America to here is not cheap and if you add on to that what he would've had to spend to get his papers in order again it would've been expensive!!
So he asked another guy to be his best man (although he was between him and my sisters fiancee because we're really tight with them) who is another good friend of his from Ecuador who assured us he was coming. He even told us he bought his ticket. Then right before FH was coming from Ecuador he told him he wasn't sure (2 weeks before FH was coming - 5 weeks before the wedding!!) He finally told us over a week later that he couldn't come. His reasons were understandable to a point because he owns a company and it was business related but his brother works with him so if he really made the effort I think he could've come!! (I didn't tell that part to FH to not make him feel worse)
We asked my sis fiancee to be the Best Man and he is great. We asked another one of FHs friends that lives in NY to be a GM and he was wonderful!! The very next day he got his tux and everything. (FH was going to ask him from the begining but we weren't sure on the number for the BP) So, we were back to BM and 2 GM
Now, I receive an email from the other GM who lives in Jersey (10 DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) saying that something beyond his control has come up and he will no longer be able to attend the wedding!!!!!
Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!? 10 days before the wedding!!!!!!!!! It also upsets me for FH. But at least he still has two good guys there with him. I just wish his friends were more serious about things!!
I think maybe its because in Ecuador weddings are not as formal. But still a wedding is a wedding and when you commit to something you should follow through!!!!
ok, vent over. sorry its so long. I just dont' want to vent to FH right now b.c I know he must feel bad enough as it is.
