Dont worry I am getting married in 2009(my date is a fake for lurkers!) You are getting married in the low season so dont worry.I would book a photo/video, then limo but most people book within 8 mth period so dont worry!!

You've got lots of time on your hands, but I'd make sure to book dj/band, photo/video, and limo as soon as you could that way they don't get booked up.

As for dresses, invites, etc., you've got time for those.

You're doing great. Shoot. I'm 2 and 1/2 months out from my wedding and I still have no florist.. haha. So if you are working on that now, you are way ahead of me! Don't worry... It will all turn out great and you have plenty of time!

You are ahead of me - band is such a big expense, and we did not book that. We are VERY excited about our photographer, though, if you want info on that. And my mom is meeting with Burton's today re: florist. Can get you info if you'd like.

How did you decide on a band?

I can't speak for the norm, but I can tell you that you are doing well so far. My fiance and I would like to get married Fall 09, but have no date or RH, and therefore nothing else yet either! If you ever feel behind, just FM me and I'll make you feel like you're way ahead!!

oh please, I planned my entire wedding in only a matter of 5 months and that includes EVERYTHING (the hall, church, the DJ, Photographer, etc, etc, etc) and it was perrrrrfect!!! (I'm also one of those people tho who just happens to work fast) But I'm sure that you'll be fine!! Try to book all of the big things as soon as you can, and save the 'little' stuff for later. But make sure to shop around. I saved so much money just by really seeking out my options

I booked the hall a year before my wedding and then didn't do ANYTHING until 6 months before. I booked my florist 3 weeks before. I kid you not (I don't recommend that, but it was fine). You are fine!!!!

Wow, i feel very far behind too, but now i feel a bit better, lol. However, we are getting married seemingly the most popular date ever and every time i really like someone/something (ie three different bands, three weeks in a row, two photographers, and not to mention, my original date at my RH!), they JUST got booked before I got to them! and that is getting very frustrating!!

but i am trying to stay calm cool collected
any advice on bands?...

Re: I feel so far behind

Your doing fine. When I first came on this website, I felt sooooo far behind however I really did not feel that much pressure. My plan was not to get stressed over this wedding planning and instead try to enjoy it. What has helped me is to tackle each vendor on a monthly basis. That included researching, calling to make appts, meet with the vendor and by the end of that particular month, I made such to book. For example:
Jan-Booked the RH, did STD
Feb-photo
March-Limo and Video
April- Will be DJ/MC

If you need help on photos I have a list of places with prices that I can pass on to you.
