I Feel SO Unprepared! HELP!

Hey!

I have no idea how weddings go, i have not been planning my wedding since i was 12 like every other girl in the world haha I havent even THOUGHT about a wedding til i got engaged.

This brings me to this ...we have a VERY short engagement, the wedding is May 13th - 75 days!

I feel like NOTHING is done yet.

So far we have:

-Booked the place (Harbor Club in Huntington)
(they are making the cake)
-Got invitations (being sent out this week)
-Booked DJ/Band
-Booked Photographer
-Got my dressssss

and i think thats it. I am so scared that we are running out of time!

What else do i need to have done by this mark?!

I am SO clueless!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you doing flowers. You might want to look at these nest. BM dresses? Do you have bridesmaids? Do you want a videographer? Are you doing favors? Do you have you wedding day accessories, jewelery, veil, tiarra, shoes.

These are just some of the stuff I can think of.

I think you need to get as much done as possible - Do you have your BM dresses?

That is the time of prom so are you doing tuxes for your GM's? If so I would start that also - also Limos

I am having all my bridesmaids pick out their own dresses - so thats there issue to worry about hehe ;)

I do have the videographer, i forgot to list that - Favors and wedding day accessories i need as well! Thank you SO much!

OK, despite us getting engaged a year ago, I was almost in your exact spot a month ago.... let me give you the run down...

THINGS TO DO IN THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO.

Find a hair dresser and make-up artist ASAP, They book up quickly.

Florist. The favorites on this site are burton's, and flower michelle. But many of these places may already be booked for may. there are many smaller outfits that also have rave reviews. Just search the threads on this site, and wedding reviews...

Organize your addresses ASAP, and pass them off to whomever is responsible for the bridal shower. Find a calligrapher and send off the envelopes.... They should be in the mail by about mid march!

For BM dresses, see if you can organize your girls and take them to estelles or nordstroms. Hopefully you can get something off the rack they all like. Let them pick out their own shoes, if you don't mind...

Find a limo, if you need one.

Get FH to take care of the tuxes...

After one whirlwind week taking care of that stuff (it's not as bad as you may think... you took care of the hard parts already!), it will be like you've been planning for the last year!

Then, mail out invitations, go to tri county or bridal shop for veil / accessories / shoes, and shop for favors.... I think that's it!

You can do it! Like the others said, just plan for a couple of crazy planning weeks. All your big items are covered, so that's good. Once you get your florist, you'll be able to focus on the little things.

Also remember that you don't have to do everything on other to-do lists. You may want to do your own hair/makeup, not use limos, etc. This will cut down on the things you have to get done!

Everyweek, just try to get done a couple of wedding stuff, whether it be picking jewerly, or looking at CP ideas, it will all Fall in Place

You've already got most of your major vendors out of the way, so just focus on the booking your florists and the rest seems little. You don't have to follow the standard 'to-do' list either because you can always opt to do your own hair/make-up or not rent limos...

Yeah, I need to get on the florists! Im trying to look for hair and makeup now as well - i need to do some trials!!

I also have to start looking for limos, once i get those things out of the way i think i will be a lot less stressed!!!

we're getting married on the same day!!!! i thought i was the only one getting married on Mother's Day!!!

Have you picked out a hair/makeup person? Florist? Cake? Officiant?

Dont worry -- you'll be fine. Just do one thing at a time and try not to get stressed. I would definately start with the following:

Flowers
Makeup
Hair
Limos
Tuxes

After that, then go on to favors and accessories -- those are things that will be shipped on time or you can just go out and pick up whenever.

P.S. -- your ring is absolutely stunning!

I am also having a short engagement-7 months. I still haven't picked out limos, BM dresses, rings or invitations.

Don't forget about the marriage license, wedding bands, and if you are going to book a honeymoon.

Also...you should definitely find someone to do your hair/makeup...
