I feel terrible!

I feel terrible!

So, our engagement party was in October which was thrown by my parents. FH's parents paid for favors and balloons. They also gave us a pretty nice check as well. FH and I planned on getting them a nice thank you card to thank them for their generosity. However, somehow we forgot to do that as we (I) were sending out our thank you's.

A couple of days ago at the dinner table my future MIL asks if we sent out all our thank yous. Immediately my future BIL chimes in he got his, completely embarrassing us that we forgot to send one for his parents. I know my future MIL brought it up as a way of hinting that we forgot to acknowledge them for their gift. With all of that being said, what do we do now?? I was thinking of making a photo book with pics from the party and dedicate the last page as a thank u page and give it to them for xmas.

Anyone else have other suggestions or ideas?? I feel terrible!

that's a great idea... the photobook... very heartfelt and I am sure they will love it! I wouldn't worry just tell them you wanted to do something special to thank them other than just send out a regular thank you card!

Love the photo book idea but I wouldn't try to cover up your forgetting with just giving them that. Honestly is always the best way to go but I'm sure they'll understand that you and FH are being pulled in a 1000 different directions.

The book idea seems like a great way to say 'see... we didn't forget!.. we just wanted to make it special... just as you made our engagement special.'

Great way to save yourself

The photobook is a great idea!!! You could also tell them it took you time since for most it does take time finding the perfect pictures and since its the holidays shipping is slower

What you could also do is give them a frame of your and FH in it. Maybe get it engraved at Things Remembered. Then surprise them with the book for the holidays.

Re: I feel terrible!

What did you say when she brought it up.

if u acted like you didnt forget then just do the picture book idea cause i LOVE it..and at the end write something along the lines of, I was waiting for the best, or something

if you acted like you forgot, keep a[ologizing, then do the book and say, I hope you can accept my apologize and feel my appreciation.

something along those lines.
goodluck keep me updated!

When she brought it up, I said I was about 85% done with the thank you's (which was a lie, I did them all) and that I still had some left to do. I think I am going to do the book and the engraved frame and give it to them along with their other gifts for Christmas.
