I finally booked my hall!!! Girls looking for a place for small guest lists...

We put down the deposit today at Deseversky for July 22nd, 06 - I am so excited!!!! Almost 6 months after our engagment we finally found the place of our dreams. I really wanted a destination wedding, but after a lot of research and investigation we discovered the perfect place 20 minutes from home. In the end it fit us better than all the other places we looked at (which were a lot - over 20 - suffolk/nassau/upstate locations!!!!).

For those brides looking for a reception location that will accomodate a small number of guests - this place is a definant must look. As I have written in the past - I am having a small wedding (approx 100 guest including venders) and we wanted an elegant wedding on a Sat. night but there are not many places that host 1 wedding and will accomodate such a low min. It is a beautiful mansion which you have use of the entire mansion and the grounds for your wedding (it is a historical landmark) and is amazing taken care of and feels in the middle of no where. You can't see one house around it and it is in Nassau County!!!. Also - IMO for long island on a Sat night the price was a steal (expecially since it is so grand and all yours).

Whew!!! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I appreciate all the advice and support other board members have given me over the last months. It really helped.

you must be so happy...
i go to school at that campus and the other day i just drove into the mansion to see it for no reason, it is just so beautiful. They are fixing up the drive in and the grounds around it so i am sure it will be even more perfect in a year. Again Congrats!!!!

I actually found this place through other LIW brides who found it. Because this is a historical mansion in a residential area (and associated with NYIT) they are not allowed or are limited in the advertising they are allowed to do. This place is a hidden treasure and located in a wonderful place off of Northern Blvd (although you do not see any civilization around the facility).
