I feels happy and sad at the same time. My last name has been part of my identity for my whole life (it's the only way people know I'm part Italian, too). But I also feel so happy to be married to my DH and changing my last name is something I always knew I would do!
And now it'll take less time to sign things and people can actually pronouce it by reading it!!

Hooray Mrs P!!!!!!!! I don't know, I still get fuzzies when I'm called 'Mrs. V' or I see it on my license and stuff.

Woo-hoo! Doesn't it feel so 'grown up' to do this? I was sad, happy and nervous all at once. I changed it legally (payroll, stocks, 401K, etc. must match your SS card), but my job allowed me to hyphenate for my email and internal listing, so my clients and co-workers will know me as hyphen...LOL, that sounded wrong. It was the best compromise I could find since I wanted to legally be Mrs. R, but love the way it sounds hyphenated (even if it IS 19 characters! )...OK, sorry for the little novel. Many congratulations!

i knwo how you feel. I am all italian (decent) and my name last name definitley tells you that!!! But when I get married, I will have a very Irish name. Which actually goes really good with my first name....

I went to the one in Melville off of 110, but there's also one in Freeport.
