I'm a little nervous about it though. I've been teaching first grade for the past year and this position is in fifth grade. It is so different from what I'm used to. My experience has been mainly primary. It's a 1/2 year leave replacement, but I am hoping that it will turn into something permanent because it's in a great district.

Were you teaching first grade full time? Did you switch to a leave replacement just because it was in the district you wanted to work in? If so, kudos to you! You have courage! Teaching positions at the elementary level are hard to come by these days! As far as the grade level, it will be a welcome transition. Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!

The first grade position I had was also a leave replacement, but the teacher is coming back in September and there is nothing available in that district, so I had to look elsewhere.

On to bigger and better things! Hopefully, the 5th grade teacher will decide to be a SAHM! How did you get the job? Nobody I know has gotten called in on interviews this year! (Can you tell I'm a frustrated elementary school wannabe? LOL!)
