I got a peek at baby!

All morning yesterday I was having pretty bad pains …lower pelvic region. I figured it was the round ligament pains, but they persisted, and got really bad by around 3:00 - I called the dr. and they had me come right in.

Long story short…they really don’t know what it is. I have a low fever (like 99.1) which they said is normal, but she said my belly feels warm…and that maybe it's just a little bug. She said it could also be that the baby grows a lot in the weeks I am in, and maybe the pulling on the uterus is just really painful for me because of my size. I also have pelvic adhesions from a procedure I had to have years ago…so she said it could be that as well. Regardless, we are watching it. There is no bleeding, spotting, etc. so she said just to see if they get worse or remain as bad and come back. This morning I am feeling a lot better.

GREAT news is that I got to see baby! She did an ultrasound just in case. Everything is well - and WOW did it look different than it did the first time around! It was on it's back rolling side to side and moving it's little arms. So beautiful and so much bigger! It didn't look like an amoeba anymore either!. She asked me right as she put the wand on my belly 'do you want to know what this is'? MICHELE.... I ALMOST DID IT!!!!! I was like …um…….oh god….NO NO NO NO!!!! I felt so guilty even seeing the baby without Chris. Let alone finding out what it WAS?!?!? But I was DYING to know! Anyway the baby is totally fine. My fluid is fine, heartbeat - all is well. I did ask her if she knew what it was. She turned the screen from me, looked for about a half a minute and said …………………………………..I am not going to say either way. NO CLUES!!!! She's good!!!!

Anyway, that is my update. I just have to take it a little easier than I have been I think. Rule of thumb she said is any pain during pregnancy that borders on a little more than basic discomfort…find yourself a seat and try to get your feet up. She said even if you go into the bathroom and lean back on a toilet. There shouldn’t be pain and anything that persists call immediately. Not to mention girls…Now I know why it used to be so hard to get an appointment with your gynecologist. It's because the preggos get to come in whenever they have a little twinge of pain!

It is very difficult not to find out, but I think you did the right thing. I mean, without DH there would have been a bit, well, not really fair.

So glad to hear that everything is fine-- I was telling my MOH about you last night-- as if I really know anything about you---but more about the dr and hospital and I found out that 2 friends of ours are considering jobs in L&D at 'our' hospital!!!!
So if they get in before you deliver I will give them a heads up if you want
