i got my....

permanent residency in Australia!!!

for those that have been following my story, i finally got my visa!

for those that havent, in addition to all the wedding plans i was also filling out ALOT of paperwork so that i could immigrate to Australia (DH is australian). the last part of that was to send in my marriage license with my passport so that i can go over there. i booked my flight for august 21st and i was a little nervous b/c it was a non-refundable flight that couldnt be changed, but it was the cheapest. i wasnt sure how long it would take, but i have it now! *whew* i was really afraid i was cutting it too close.

DH is back home and now it is official i can be with my DH without having to worry if i have my visa.

OMG that is awesome I know the whole Australian visa fiasco...I'm Australian and Hubby is English he just got his spousal visa one month after we got married - we are off there in Oct...

oh i didnt know you were australian. DIMIA is so strict!! you are going to live there? I just wrote you an FM, but i didnt realise you were australian. i will be living in the shire (sutherland shire) until we find a place. we want to live in the eastern suburbs, but it is $ so we may just look for a place by his family's in Caringbah.

Oooh sooo exciting...

I know immigration to Oz is very strict...we spent 3 months gathering 'proof' and three months of waiting for an answer for hubby's visa...I know 6 months all up is not that long of a wait BUT it's the process that is a killer...
Welcome to Oz...Sydney is great...make sure do come down to my city Melbourne for a coffee and a spot of shopping...

PS I always wondered what the kangaroo represented...it all gels now...
