I got my Cake Box from Lillian Vernon

It is so cute, but a little plain so my mom is going to dress it up with autumn leaves to go with our theme. Well worth the $14.98!

That is gorgeous. What do you do with it? DOes she need the dimensions og\f your cake before she makes it? How long did it take?

My mom is the crafty one, how she will dress it up, I'm not exactly sure but I have complete faith it will be beautiful. I'll post pics when she's done.

I just got mine on Friday and my mom too is dressing it up. She is going to put little roses in my colors since that is my theme on it.

Cards you get at your wedding. Instead of carrying around the money bad, people can put the envelope in the cake box instead

Fh has a couple of questions about this. How big is it? Can it hold a lot of cards (someone has a big head and is plannin on gettin lots of envelops lol) and how does it open and close? Is there a place to put a lock? (they usually lock them so people cant steal )

The size is on the site, 12 1/2x14 1/4' high.

it collapses into three parts, each fitting into each other, No lock. It could probably hold 50 or so normal sized cards. Maybe. What do you all think?

We read the dimensions but its hard to tell without seeing it in person. How do you get the cards out?

I had the same concerns as you June262004. We're planning on having about 150 people so I think the size will be ok as long as we don't get alot of oversized cards. To get the cards out, you have to lift the whole cake off the base.

ahhh ok so You would see people taking the big top off to get to the cards right (trying to steal I know im crazy for thinking this but ive heard horror stories with even vendors)

Yes, it wouldn't be easy for someone to tip toe out the door with the whole cake and quite honestly I think when you finally do pull the top off, the cards are going to spill out so it won't be an easy quick thing. You can ask for the box to be placed behind or next to your table instead of near the door or a high traffic area, I think that is what I'm going to do.

I've heard those stories too, my aunt and uncle had their bridal bag stolen from their wedding It's disgusting that we even have to concerned about this!
