so im a creative writing major and i sent soem poems to the Paris Review and they sent them back, meaning they dont want them. My professor told me before you get published there will be a lot of rejections, and i was kidda prepared, but it still *****.

as an english teacher, i work w/ a lot of people who routinely work at getting published, some of whom have been published before and still field rejection letter after rejection letter. in fact, it's a pretty big deal to get even one poem published in the smallest of collections or a local paper.

Don't lose hope, just keep trying and eventually you will get published! Science papers are kind of like that too and I've been rejected tons of times from getting grants, but all you can do is keep trying! Good luck!
I'm def. not going to give up, it was my first attempt, so i guess i'll just keep sending them till i finally get published, atleast just once. Thanks for all the support.

(07 crashing) I am an artist and have had my work rejected on several occasssions...yes it stinks...but don't give up! I always say it is a subjective field and it depends on the person reviewing your work! There are people who will love your stuff..and those who will not...i did cry at my first rejection...but am over that now!! I've also had successful venues which validate that i don't completely stink..haha. Hang in there and good luck!!!
