my invites are officially done and will be weighed and snet out by the end of the week hopefully!

I dyed my crinoline blue

i did it twice actually...i first used powder blue (the RIT dye) but i wasnt a huge fan of the color so i went and bought teal and i love it now!

first you have to mix the dye in water..for each box use two cups of hot water

the powder blue

the teal

put the crinoline in the wash without the dye and get it good and wet, take the crinoline out, then pour the dye in and let it mix for a minute in the wash cycle before putting the crinoline back in the wash

tip: buy rubber gloves bc the water is HOT and my hands were burning

restart the wash cycle so the crinoline and the dye have plenty of time to mix

this is after the first time

after the second time (you cant tell the difference too much from the pics but the color is def brighter and a bit more aquaish

Ooh, your invitations came out beautiful!! I love the colors. You did a really great job...I'm impressed! And, your slip came out so pretty...love the shade of blue in turned out!

Your invites came out great. I've never seen anyone dye crinoline. Did you do it for your 'something blue' or for your photos?....just curious!

Your invitatins are amazing !! The crinolin came out great too ...there is s big difference in the color between the 2 dyes

thanks! and a little of both! just a fun little color under my dress for photos and for the garter toss..my girls are wearing tiffany blue so it matches my colors and is my something blue

Quick question about the crinoline... are you supposed to be able to see the color THROUGH the skirt of your dress? Or is it just for when the dress lifts up a little you can see the color at the bottom?

sorry im getting back to u so late! im really hoping that you cant see it through the dress! i just want it when i lift it up..i dont think especially with my dress that you will be able to see it unless i pick up my dress

I love your invites. Classy with bling! And the teal is amazing for your slip. That is a cool way to get your something blue. Are you doing a garter toss?
