Yeah, he totally wants them. He thinks they are worth it. So who am I to judge? He will probably be totally geeked over them. I got him a pen tablet for his b-day and he nearly creamed himself.

My FH has them and they are sooooooo worth it!! He loves them and is tempted to buy the newer smaller ones!!!
They are awesome on planes and to just block out any noise around you without having to turn up the volume so much!! I'm sure he'll love them!!! Sweet present!!!

i dont think that is crazy - they are bose. bose is known for being expensive and he will totally appreciate when he gets them. even if it doesnt look like much to open.

Well, THANKS Your thread propelled me to the Bose site where I was compelled to buy Dean the $100 ear buds. I wasn't going to buy him anything else, but he will be very excited about them, not quite the level of excitement you mentioned Vic having, maybe just a h@rd on.
