So today i went to order my dress and got my measurements done. the dress they are ordering for me is a size 10. Now i know there is a difference in sizes for wedding gowns and for regular evening gowns. the last wedding i went to i wore a size 4! So here's my question: do i need to get a size 10 slip so it fits the dress or do i just go with whatever size fits me the best?? Sorry if this sounds dumb- I just want to be sure before i buy something. Thanks.

Re: I gotta slip question
I thought that slips were one size fits all......maybe I am wrong, but I am borrowing a slip from my sister in law. I was also offered my Fh's cousins slip and the two of them are completely different sizes. Who knows......sorry I am no help...

Re: I gotta slip question
I believe she's right, one size fits all. The waist on my slip is just a string that you tie to fit how you want it so it can be as small or as big as you want it. They ordered it for me so they should be able to tell you.

Re: I gotta slip question
I would get the slip that actually fits.
I am normally a size 4 and when I found the gown I liked the sample size was a size 8 and it was too big. They told me that they were going to order my gown in a size 10!!! My mom convinced them to order the size 8 so there wouldnt need to be THAT much more work for altering the dress but I wonder why they wanted to order the gown soo big!

Re: I gotta slip question
when i got my slip it definitely wasn't One Size Fits All. They had all different sizes depending on your dress & body type. For me - the wedding gown i got was pretty much exactly my normal dress size, so i got the same size slip as well.

Re: I gotta slip question
Most of the time, it's a one size fits all. Of course they have different slips for different dresses, but some certain slips do come in SM, M, L, up to XXL. It all depends because a shop I worked in had sized slips. Most of them have velcro (spelling?) and can be adjusted but the sized ones have zippers. One size fits all is moslty common though

Re: I gotta slip question
Guess it depends on the designer. My slip was definitely not a one size fits all. My dress was a size 4 and fit perfectly, but my slip was a size 6. Guess you need to go to the shop and try on different sizes and styles. Good Luck!
