I had a bridezilla experience

OMG i am going dress shopping feb 22. i made the appointment like a month ago. so i called today to confirm that i will be there and will be bringing 4 ppl with me and to confirm that they will have a sample dress of the dress i am in love with. i faxed them a picture and called them back to confirm they got it. i ensured her i would like to try on many dresses, but this one dress please ensure to have a sample of.

LOL....don't worry about it....I'm sure each of us will have at least 1 or 2 times were we are a 'bridezilla'!

Melissa, I am confused. Do they have the sample of that dress?

You sound more thorough then a bridzilla to me Imagine if you got there and they did not have the dress you really want to try on Then bridezilla may need to make an appearance:)

Maybe I'm missing something but that didn't seem Bridezilla to me

Re: I had a bridezilla experience

I think you sound like a very together, well organized bride. Now if you had called there screaming and demanding a special try-on suite, green M&M's and Evian water chilled to precisely 36 degrees, THEN I'd say you were a bridezilla...

LMAO!

yes they have the sample. She also said they will have many dresses for me to try on and look forward to seeing me. AWWW...

you have no idea how organized i am with all the wedding stuff. I was out of work for 3 months and i made a book that i call the 'melissa was out of work and has no life' book. I made dividers, glued pictures, made notes, etc...

the i had no life and no job wedding book.

FI makes fun of me, but when he wants to know something i go to my creative book, flip a few pages and viola` i found what he was asking for.

Being so organized has definatly helped in planning the wedding.

Nothing wrong with being organized..I have everything on file and a whole room designated for bridal attire, gifts etc...I'm an organization freak, I like things at my fingertips and where I can find them easily.

Re: I had a bridezilla experience

I have to remind brian everyday check the calendard to see if we have anything wedding to do. I swear I am going to get a chalk board or mabye the etcha scetch like on friends and hang it in the kitchen to remind him things.

I have to be organized or i feel like a mess. this whole wedding is definatly organized

Re: I had a bridezilla experience

Melissa you are not a bridezilla! I would have turned into one if I did the same thing you did and they didn't have the dress there. I would have freaked at that point!
Have a great time dress shopping!!!

Re: I had a bridezilla experience

That's normal behavior.
Imagine what a pain in the @ss it would be to go to a shop especially to try on a particular dress and then it wasn't there. Talk about ruining what should be a fun bridal moment!!
I have a book too. I'm sure more than half of us do, and believe me, in the end, it makes life much easier if you're organized.

I'm guilty of many bridezilla moments:
I had our groomsmen pay $250 to rent morning suits that came with gray pinstriped pants flown in from the UK because I didn't like the chalk striped pants that came with the Ralph Lauren morning suits that's available here.
Same with hats because I had to have wool felt instead of satin.
They made all our vests because I wanted silk instead of polyester.
I could go on and on and on. When I look back now, I realized that I was EXACTLY one of those brides that I hated!

But in the end, it was all perfect, and even better than I dreamed.

Re: I had a bridezilla experience

Thanks.

FI keeps joking with me because i want certain things and when i have my heart set on something and dont get it, i get very upset. So i make sure that if i ask a million questions and if i am to meet someone i confirm they will be there, i confirm our time of meeting, directions and if we are running late i call the person to let them know.

In my old office you had to be one step ahead of everything and its just a habbit i cant get rid of.

FI likes to torture me and tell me he is going to wear a purple velvet tux and all his guys are going to be in purple tuxes and furs, pimping central. AHHHHH!!! I yell at him and he laughs. He thinks he is funny. well he isnt and i'll hit him over the head with my bo-k and tie a tussy mussy around him and then we'll see who has the last laugh

Re: I had a bridezilla experience

Melissa-

The woman who tended to me at the bridal salon where I purchased my dress needed to see a psychiatrist when I was done!! I made her nuts! I made her take about 30 pics of me in every different light and angle, went back no fewer than 4 times to try on the same dress, asked the same questions over and over again just to assure myself what she was saying is true--- imagine the woman hearing over and over again---' So you are going to get this for me in white, right?'... She probably has nightmares about me asking that question!!!

Point is- This is a NYC bridal shop you are talking about--- The attendants there have to be a certain breed and have seen it all!!! I saw screaming brats in these stores that make you or I look like Cinderella!!

Re: I had a bridezilla experience

OMG! I am so afraid i am going to drive the sales girls nuts. At least i'll have my mom, my MOH and 2 BM with me so i'll have some sense of sanity.

When we looked at halls, i swear i think i gave the banquet managers headaches. the hall we booked i must have asked the guy the same thing 5 times just because i wanted consistancy.

when we booked photographer oh my god i thought the guy was going to throw the books at us. i was like so what kind of light is this? is it natural, is it artificial, what types of lighting do you use, what kind of film do you use, do you have back up equiptment.

FI just shook his head.

FI is waiting for the monster to come out. so far i have been really good and going with the flow. FI swears a monster is going to come out any moment
