I had a little visitor in my garbage can tonight....
I went outside to take out the garbage and as I put it in the can (there are 3 cans), I notice a little furry body with a plastic bag tossed on top of it. There are tons of kittens in my neighborhood so I figured, someone threw a kitten in there or something I reach in and take the bag off of the top of the animal and I see a possum! my DH and I were shocked lol! I jumped back about 5 feet...I live in Jersey City and we sometimes see them on the street etc but it just shocked me. It was hissing at me. My DH knocked the can over so it can run out of the can. Weird!

OMG
One of those creatures fell into my window well when I lived in a basement apartment. I freaked out - ran around for ten minutes and made DH (FH at the time) go outside and find something it can use to crawl out of the well.

I think possums are cute!
I'm surprised it hissed at you,....the ones I've encountered usuallly play dead when they are scared.

YUK!!
Possums have the sharpest teeth of any mammal, I would be afraid to get bitten! Maybe this one was aggressive because its not afraid of people?

He wasn't there when DH left this morning.
There are sooooooooo many kittens in this neighborhood I thought maybe one had died and put it in my garbage can sad i know, but I wasn't sure....
At times when we were looking at him he would close his eyes and look dead but I swear, he looked at us and hissed at us! I didn't think he was that cute but I did feel bad for him thats why I made my DH tip the can over so he could get out.

I have them where i live. They do anything to us. One time we had one that was hurt and it was walking in the day time. We were helping it get out of our yard and go across the street.
