I had my shower on Saturday :)
I was pretty sure it was going to be my shower, but I practiced my surprised face on Friday. I'll be honest, even though I knew it was for me I was still surprised.
It was at Concetta's in Brooklyn in the upstairs room. I walked in and saw my Mom standing there and I started to cry! I couldnt believe all the people there. What really made it great was that my niece was there, my mom hasnt been allowed to see her for 5 months and I was really happy that my SIL brought her.
John had sent a dozen white roses and a pink rose corsage for me, they were really beautiful. The food was really good and the cake was gorgeous. It was in the shape of an umbrella and was decorated so beautifully, I'll post pics as soon as I get them.
I could not believe the amount of gifts I had, it took me 1.5 hours to open. I got basically everything off of my registries, and a few duplicates lol. From one of my BM's I got a baking basket, she filled a rubber maid container with baking pans, measuring spoons, pyrex, cake mixes, frostings, cookie mixes, sprinkles a Hershey cookbook etc. 3 of my bridesmaids bought me a digital video camera with all the accessories. Another BM made a laundry gift basket, she bought all my towels and detergants, bleach, fabric softener. MY SIL and brother bought us a DVD player and a VCR. My Mom made us a basket for our bedroom, she got a big wicker laundry bakset and filled it with sheets, pillows and a comforter. My MIL made a kitchen gadget basket, every single little gadget I could think of and 2 cookbooks (Italian and Puerto Rican). It took 4 cars to bring this stuff to my house and about 6 hours to put it all away!
The favors were votive candle holders. The favors for my BM's were Lenox BM statues, for the FG it was Lenox crystal Merry-go-round and I got the Lenox bride below.
My Mom's and my MOH made a great party, we played the traditional shower games, my MOH made a little notebook and had everyone in the room give some advice to me (my 2 favorite~If you dont get what you want deny John the boobies and lots of Rice Y Gandules). It was so much fun I cant wait to get the pics!
