I had my shower Saturday!!

OMG my mother and SIL and everyone who helped put it together are absolutely the BEST! It was so wonderful to feel so loved by everyone that came! I had a GREAT time! I was really nervous walking in and actually felt uncomfortable being the center of attention at first, but it melted away when I saw everyone there and how much effort they put in to the whole event!

I got most of items off my registry (and NO - I didn't peek ahead of time like I so wanted to!), and a basket to pamper myself from my 6 mo. old niece! I did break down at one point while I was opening gifts when I read the note from my aunt attached to my grandmother's handkerchief for me to carry down the aisle...! It was a touching moment though, as most everyone there was from my side of the family and knew how close we were. But - my family was able to bring the party back up again ...!

My flower girl was the biggest help and LOVED being part of the festivities! My family made these candleholders with M&Ms aroud the outside and my cousin wrote a poem explaining them on the top of the menu:

This candleholder is for you to enjoy everyday
But the M&M's that are in it, you will soon see in a different way.
One 'M' is for Mary, the other 'M' is for Mitch,
When put together like the M&M's, it doesn't matter which is which.
Our wish is that their marriage will mirror this tasty treat,
Hard and strong on the outside, but inside soft and sweet!!!

I had a wonderful day and can't thank everyone who worked so hard for it enough! My bridal party is kind of scattered (and includes FH's children) so I know my mother and family took a lot on with this and I loved every minute!

The number of bows on that hat says you got a LOT of gifts!! I doubt my mom and MOH will be able to surprise me either...congrats again!
