I had my shower yesterday!!! With PICS
It was so much fun. We decided from the beginning that it would not be a surprise. I think there are pros and cons to this. One pro is that the party starts right away. You don't miss any of it.
We had the shower at Diane's in Roslyn. The food is absolutely excellent. We had a cocktail hour with hordorves (sp?). They had a choice between a grilled shrimp salad and a gorgonzola salad. Then for an entree they had a choice between risotto with lobster, scallops, and shrimp, duck with a cherry sauce, and shell steak. For dessert, they selected a walnut brownie with banana ice cream, chocolate mousse cake, sorbets, or frozen cappucino with warm cinnamon donuts.
We did an herb theme. Everyone was seated at a table named after an herb (rosemary, basil, thyme, sage, lemon verbena, lavender, scented geranium, etc.). We had table cards made with a picture of the herb. That table's favor was that potted herb.
The centerpieces were beyond amazing. They were herbs and flowers mixed in. This included peony, sweetpea, mint, basil, rosemary. They were gorgeous!!! Very densely packed with flowers
