I had my 'surprise' bridal shower yesterday (very long)

Okay, so I had my bridal shower yesterday!! I must admit that it wasn't a surprise at all, but I pretended that I was surprised - my mom would have been so upset is she found out that I knew about the shower. It was so incredible!! My mom and my sister and FMIL did an amazing job and it was a beautiful day. It was at Cafe Rustica in Great Neck. The room was adorable and the food was really good. My bridal party was so great and organized all of the events so well (they did a great assembly line with the present opening). I also got such wonderful presents, there is practically nothing left on my registry. My bridal party got us a digital camera for the honeymoon (so hopefully we will start using it soon and then I can post some pictures here!) My FMIL got the favors and they were so nice. They were painted (very pretty with flowers) coffee/tea cups with a matching pad and pen. Everyone loved them. One of my bridesmaid's sent out letters to all of my friends asking them to make me a page in an album, it was so touching and a great keepsake. My mom totally went overboard with presents. She bought us a tiffany vase from our registry, a vaccuum, our everyday glasses, a kiddush cup to use at our wedding, a photo album, perfume for me and cologne for my FI (plus some other stuff from my wishing well). I also got a recipe box and people put in some great things! My FMIL bought us the 9 piece All Clad set plus some extra frying pans. Everyone's generousity was totally unbelievable. Oh, and my extremely sweet fiance came at the end of the shower and gave me a beautiful necklace! Of course there were a few people that dissappointed me. Like one of my BM's who didn't show up and never gave my mom a straight answer. She's in Medical school, so I sort of understood, but then she left this bull**** message on my machine last night about how it was too much for her to come and she told my mom that she wasn't sure if she could make. But I thought it was really disrepectful of her to not give my mom a straight answer (there was spot for her and my mom paid for her) But I didn't let it effect my day. All in all it was so great and I can't believe it's over!!

I am really happy you had such a nice day. And I also had a BM not feel it was important enough to attend my shower. At least she could have just told your mother that school is hard for her to miss or take a day away from. To have your Mom pay for her and not show up is unacceptable and rude.
But don't let that at all impact the beauty of your day.
