I had my trial....

I had my trial....

I loved how it looked (will post pics later) but:
My appointment was at 3pm. I didn't get seated for my make up until 3:30. She was really fast and I loved loved loved the way it came out. Another girl was going to do my hair. She apologized that she was running behind. At 4:45!!! they seat me for my hair. The whole way through, the girl was hysterical crying, wiping her nose with her arm and tearing all over me because her boss scolded her for being behind. Kinda unprofessional and enough to scare anybody away and not book for the actual day. BUT NOT ME. I am a glutton for punishment and booked it anyway because I really loved the way it came out. I didn't get out of there until 7:30!!! Thats 4.5 hours later. My poor mother and best friend waited for me the whole time and suggest that I find some other place because I should be afraid they take that long on the day of the wedding. They are opening the salon for me at 5am on my wedding day and say that I need to and will be out by 8am. I don't know what to do. I lost sleep over it. Then they tell me I should go the night before and have the hair done. I am so pi$$ed right now. What would you do? And after all this, they gave me my lipstick and lip liner for free and a free hair glaze for 2 weeks before. I cannot bear to go looking for someone else to do my hair and make up. I don't want to do the leg work and spend more money on trials.

well just talk to the hairstylists and ask her if she is 100% sure she will make it on time and you cant take that chance. I think maybe after what happened she will try hard to make it on time. Otherwise you do have 3 hours so should be enough time. If you loved how she did your hair then maybe stick with her.

DONT do your hair the night before lol trust me. I did that about 2-3 years ago for NYE. The girl didnt have an appt the day i needed it, so i said ok ill do it the night before. SHe curled my hair, pinned up all the girls, i put a scarf over and slept like that. HUGE mistake, my hair didnt look great at all, the curls were messed up, the whole front got messed up so i tried for an hour to fix it myself at home. Its completely different when you have hair just done

I work in a salon, i dont do hair though. If your apt was on a saturday salons tend to be alittle crazy. Iam not trying to make excuses but for me personally i tend to run about 10 mins late on saturdays. ( I do nails) If they plan to open the salon just for you that early in the morning they should be on time, and they should definatlly take care of your makeup and hair first that way if they do start to run late your alreadty finished. I dont know if this helps you out at all.... good luck!

Re: I had my trial....

Do you know if they were maybe doing hair for another girl's wedding earlier that day? Because maybe things ran a little over with them, and that's why she was late getting to you. Maybe it's just me, but I'd feel better about someone taking their time and going overtime if they're doing hair for an actual wedding. It'd show me they cared about making the person look their best for the big day. I'd let it slide with a trial, because while a trial is important, it's not for the actual occasion, so you don't usually have to be somewhere at a specific time when they're doing the trial. It's more to get an idea of how you want to wear your hair for the real day. So if you really liked how it came out, I say stick with this person. And the fact that she was crying cause her boss yelled at her, try not to look at it as bad business. She's only human and she was probably trying to do the best she could.

I guess whenever I get my hair done, I always expect it to never start on time at all. It's kind of like when you make a doctor's appt. So I always plan for hair appts to not start on time, run over, etc. You think these businesses would get it by now and try not to schedule so many appts in one day. But of course they want to make as much money as possible for one day. Anyway, I think you'll be fine if you're the first person scheduled to go that day.
