I had the bright idea to reorganize our closets...

I had the bright idea to reorganize our closets...

...and now I don't feel like doing it anymore.

Except that I am half in to the job and I have belts, bags and shoes all over the bedroom floor.

I am thinking of calling that, (our crap spread on the floor) the 'new system'. Everything is really easy to get at.

What do we need with all this floor space in the bedroom anyway? We have a bed to sleep on.

These are my arguments. I think Victor will totally go for it.

Brilliant points.

I hate when that happens to me. I start off on a project all gung ho, and then low and behold I get through half of it and I crap out.

I say go for the all over the floor 'rustic' look.

All I know is that when I put things away I cant find them. I think your 'system' is much more logical.

Things like that happen to me all the time. For that reason, I have been putting off a very necessary reorganization. Our linen closet is a mess but once I start, I may not want to finish.

But ladies, can I give a helpful tip??? For things you want to store away for a while, such as out of season clothes, those HUGE ziplock bags that have been advertised are really cool. I bought the XL and the XXL sizes. I have some summer clothes stored in them. I cleaned some childhood items out of my parent's house and I am also using those bags to store some of the items.

Unbelievably, my 'new system' was called 'a mess'.

I know, I know - I am just as shocked as you are.

this is OH SO TYPICAL of me. it makes SM nuts. he is one of those 'finisher' types...me, I am convinced I have some sort of ADD....a project sounds all great until I actually start it...then I am like 'this sux...NEXT'

they also say it's typical of incredibly smart people...so that is my excuse.

my DH uses a variation of your 'system' He keeps his things piled on top of the chest at the end of our bed. It serves double duty: he finds his stuff quickly, and it prevent dust collection on the chest. He is a genius.
