I had the future in laws over for dinner.. in the new house

It went great. They bought us a beautiful crystal vase. I made this broiled potato side dish, salad with my homemade english malt vinegrette dressing.. (yummy) and Virginia shrimp saute randolph... ( it a layered dish, pastry shell, virginia deli ham, shrimp sauteed in shallots, lemon, butter, etc) with a Hollandaise sauce..
I almost ruined the hollandaise sauce... it almost turned to scrambled eggs..

Word of advice... do not make your first time using a double boiler to make something that complicated with your in laws over your house for the first time. STRESS

It went well though... Everything was delish and they loved the house and the new puppy

Wonderful.

I had FIL's over for dinner on Saturday in our new kitchen. I kept it really simple... my famous meatloaf, roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli. Little did I know FFIL doesn't like steamed broccoli.

Kudos for making such an elaborate dish!!
