I had to change....kinda long

my wedding date at Chateau Briand. It was originally Aug 2, 2008 Saturday morning. FH and I made a appt on Thursday for my mom and his mom to go see the place we got there and they also fell in love. We go and sit down with the Banquet Manager {Dawn} i just love her. His mom starts crying to him you dont respect blah blah {that is what I heard in between} then she said something like I am a seven day adventist. So apparently she is upset we are having it on Saturday and I go to church on Sundays. My mom is saying no to Sundays then finally I talked I said I would ask my pastor if he would do a ceremony on Sunday afternoon. I called him up and he said that is our sabbath so I am thinking he is going to say but then he did a 180 and said yes he said he would start his sunday service early for me i mean us . So everybody is happy now. Oh yeah did I mention that she wanted her pastor to do the ceremony we both said you getting out of hand and said hell no. Now the wedding date is Aug 10, 2008

eeeks i am sorry to hear that.. but as it has been stated YOUR day not hers. I am glad to hear there is a compromise over the situation.

Of course i had comments since my wedding is palm sunday and i said its late enough that you can get ur butt to church and back take a nap and show up to my wedding so get over it IoI

well thats good everything worked out pretty easily. Sometimes these things get out of hand and cause stress! good thing that didnt happen to you!

wow it was so nice of you to change for her!

My Fh is jewish (but SOOOO not religious)

and I am Catholic.. we were going to have a Friday night wedding.. b/c we were like Saturday night is a lot more..(and his family isn't giving not even 1$) but then.. his family started bugging out that Friday night is not good and no one will come and blah blah.. so my parents said.. come on do Saturday.. we will split the cost with you.. and it will make them happy.

So we switch to Saturday night.. and the family says.. ohh you should have had sunday.. saturday is too expensive.. you don't have to splurge like that.. I said I didn't want a sunday wedding.. and they said I have to think of everyone.

WHEN DOES EVERYONE THINK OF ME?!?!!?!

totally agree - nice compromise but make sure it doesnt snowball into FMIL wearing a white dress and you carrying her train

Ok, at least it is only a week later. I know it stinks because when we pushed ours back a month I was disappointed. But at least the compromise isnt too bad, and you can keep the peace!
