i hate bridesmaids dresses...i want to jump out the window.
One of my bridesmaids is preggers so naturally her dress doesnt fit so they need to order more fabric and make a corset for her so it does fit...So I called Macy's to find out how much $ it would cost to do so...$150 for rush order and labor...without any other alterations included.
OK so your'e telling me its going to cost more to alter it than it did to buy it in the first place????
I really dont think this bridesmaid is going to do it and I'm gonna be down one bridesmaid...
I do NOT know what to do. I have to call her and tell her how much its going to cost!!!! If she says she's not in it anymore I'm seriously gonna jump out the window. I cant take this bridalparty/wedding/dress drama anymore!!!

well... if shes big enough to need this much of an alteration how come she didnt order it sooner? why wait till it has to be rushed...

one of my BMs had a similar problem ... rather than ordering the fabric, she just had the dress converted into a corset top .... it added a lot more room for her and she was comfortable.
obviously this meant the dresses weren't all identical (and she still had to pay for that alteration) but at least it was fine - there are no pics of the BM's backs anyhow

thats what they want to do for her, but they said they need more fabric to do so, thus the $150 cost.

yeah it sucks, between this and my bachelorette/MOH drama, I was just in my boss's office crying from the stress.

For that price she could just buy a new dress! Is there anyway you could just buy an off the rack dress? Maybe from like Totally You in Bellmore or even Macy's. It might not totally match, but it would kill me to have to pay that much money and then still have to do fittings and everything.

One of my BM's just had this problem. Didn't think she was going to pop but did like a month before the wedding. She's 4 months pregnant and had her seamstress add elastic to each side of the dress by the zipper. My BM's dresses actually had a little fabric 'tail' that covered it a bit. Maybe you could do something like that and add a pin????
